The receptionist was so sweet and helpful. Based on that I would’ve given it five stars. BUT... then the exam started. I was already apprehensive, as one would be for a breast squishing exam. I’ve had abnormal results in the past and am always nervous about the outcome. The technician was horribly rude. She wreaked of cigarette smoke so much so that I couldn’t even turn my head toward her, and she was very condescending. When I told her I had 4D breast imaging ultrasound at Duke, she replied “There is no such thing.” I said “At Duke?” (The number two cancer center in America...) Then she said she’d have to google it. Really? I then asked about 3D and was told I couldn’t have that done either. However, after a week of panic because of an abnormal report, I was told by the lovely ladies at Cape Coral Breast Center that I could’ve had the 3D done that day at Bass Road. The lady was supposed to let me have it if I asked for it (which I had done). Instead, I spent a week worrying whether or not I had cancer because of the unclear report. I did indeed go to Cape Coral a week later with clear results, thank God. The whole experience was emotionally draining. I’ll never go to the Bass Road location again.

This review is for the Bass Rd location. I have never had a negative experience with a mammogram until now. I was greeted by the mammogram tech and her manner was very short. Once in the exam room, I was overwhelmed by the smell of smoke from the technician. During the exam she did not appear competent in her technique of positioning either me or the machine. She kept making excuses and told me to not be surprised if I was called back because of an irregular result. I was surprised she would say this during my exam given there was no basis for it from my medical history. I can only imagine if I got a call to come back it would be because of her lack of competency and quality of the imaging. I left feeling like I wasted my time and my imaging may be compromised by an incompetent technician. I strongly recommend others reading this review to go elsewhere. I have had great experiences at the sanctuary and will be going back there in the future. I am baffled that I could have an appointment with a breast healthcare provider that smelled so badly of smoke. I had to try and hold my breath during the exam because the smell was so strong. The proximity of a mammogram tech to the patient is very close during a mammogram and I felt nauseous by the time I left. This is unacceptable and not in the best interest of the patients.
