        Dr. Vergne is the best vet my cat and I have ever been to, and we’ve been to many! We were dealing with some complicated issues that took several months to resolve and Dr. Vergne was supportive through the whole process. She always explained everything in detail and gave me choices when it came to my cat’s care instead of just telling me. She helped me decide the best course of action for my cat, and always called me the next day to make sure she was doing ok! Also the whole team at South Federal is super sweet and welcoming. This will definitely be our forever vet!

      South Federal Animal Hospital

      Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art veterinary medicine and surgery for the pets of South Florida. We strive to do this with an emphasis on compassion, and on recognizing and honoring the deep bond that exists between our clients and their companion animals.South Federal Animal Hospital has been in the same location since 1969. Our founder, Dr. Joe Kashner who is now retired, entrusted his legacy to his long time partner of 26 years, Dr. Al Meilan, back in 2002. In January 2015, Dr. Meilan handed the torch over to Dr. Robin Stelljes, who has been with the practice for the past 11 years, as Medical Director to carry on the culture and mission of the hospital.Throughout these years, we have been fortunate to know many wonderful people, and our memories of unforgettable and extraordinary pets are bountiful.
