Probably the best food on the entire island - unfortunately, I came here on my final night so couldn't return on the same trip. The pate appetizer (only $5!) is to die for, and the beet soup was one of the best I think I've ever tasted. We opted for the whole fish with thai vegetables and, though the size was enough for a family of four, the fish was cooked absolutely perfectly. Service was impeccable throughout and every single dish was clever, memorable and - most importantly - tasty. The live jazz in the bar is definitely a hang-out not to be missed and next time I'm on the island I'll be heading to Plae on the first night instead of the last. A great experience all around.

Had a wonderful evening at Plae. Courtney, our server, was a delight and other staff were very available and gracious. We arrived before other members of our party and were offered drinks while we waited for them in the reception area. Dinner was delightful and served at a casual pace. Appetizers and salads that included fried oysters, calamari, southern caprese salad, and the beet salad were all delicious and eagerly consumed. The entrees were a combination of seafood dishes that ranged from crab cakes to the creatively prepared poisson du jour (snapper with a strawberry vinaigrette) to a creamy/savory filet of beef oscar. Would definitely make the trip to Amelia Island (or anywhere else, for that matter) from Jacksonville to dine again at this spot.

I have visited Plae many times, and it seems to me that food quality is going down hill. I had a $12 caesar salad with brown lettuce and nasty, mushy shrimp, followed by undercooked scallops with overcooked vegetables. Thankfully, dessert was good but I won't be back any time soon. Too bad, I used to really like this place.
