We decided last minute, ok it was the day before, that wed like to yak down the Rainbow River. We googled a few businesses that offered options but we landed on this business. Upon arrival the staff greeted us with cheerful morning salutations. They were loading up kayaks and encouraged us to not forget hydration & our sunscreen. The ride to the launch point was quick, the entry into the park smooth, the shove off exhilarating. Our daylong adventure had begun. It was a beautiful day. The river flow was gently but moving nicely; you could float a bit and scan the shoreline for all kinds of critters. Turtles basking in trees. Fish swimming under us the water completely clear. Birds galore nesting up high in trees or sitting on a branch just watching. The alligators were stealthily basking half in the river & half on the makeshift island of natural debris that caught up in a tree branch thats now created a living island of plant life, spider webs, & a purfect platform for a 4 alligator to lay and chill! We took advantage of the warmer yet cool weather and paddled up river first then into a nook or two, no reason to speedily paddle on such a gorgeous day. Five PM is the last pick-up and nearing 4:50 we were around the last bend on the river before the appointed location. Arriving on shore we helped the dude load our yaks along with several others who squeezed every ounce of the day. The crew at Rainbow River Kayak Adventures got us to & from easy-peasy and were kind as they went about their tasks.

What a great way to spend an afternoon! Everything was very organized and instructions easy to follow. Our driver Kirk was a wealth of information. It took us about 2.5 hours. Saw an alligator, an otter eating a fish and so many beautiful birds. Would love to do this over and over we enjoyed it so immensely.

Great and easy company to work with! Made reservations before arriving. Once we got there, we checked in and loaded onto the bus. They took us down to the launch and we enjoyed out 3 hour kayak along the river. It was easy to find our location to get off and they picked us up shortly after we called. Recommend to anyone wanting to kayak on Rainbow River!
