Our outdoor wedding got rained out at the last minute. The ceremony photos and photography hour I had envisioned went right out the window! This did not seem to phase Michael or his team at all. He took over and told us where to stand and what to do to have amazing wedding photos. The photos are absolutely fantastic! He had me all my edited photos within two weeks of the wedding! His team member even solicited an umbrella from a stranger for a couple of pictures when the rain had died down to a sprinkle- some of the best photos are with that random umbrella! I had one of those weddings where nothing went according to plan, Michael and team came in and displayed a high level of skill and professionalism that helped make everything turn out wonderfully! I highly recommend him!

Michael K and his team were absolute perfection! So fun and easy to work with! Comparable pricing and they made our big day even more incredible!

He is apparently a con artist. I paid for a memory book and have never received it. We had a good experience in person but he did not fulfill his end of the contract :(

BUYER BEWARE. I only give him 1 star because i was forced to select at least one. I was very excited to have Michael as my photographer but could not have had a worse experience. I first signed a contract with him in Feb 2015 and did not hear back (despite multiple phone calls and emails) from him once until literally days prior to my wedding (in October of 15). At that point i just needed the reassurance that he didn't just scam me and leave me without a photographer but i couldn't even get an email response back. The wedding day came and he showed up and said my photos would be ready in 4 weeks. Almost 8 weeks went by (again with multiple calls and emails) without a single response until the photos were ready, long after he had promised. Again, i thought i was scammed. The photos went up on the website and he sent a simple email letting me know. I had to continually follow up with him over the next month and half to find out how to get the prints and the cd of my photos that i had purchased almost a year prior. Still, he never gave me the respect of ever returning a single phone call. He FINALLY sent a very short email with how to send him the pictures i wanted prints of. Again, another month or two go by with ZERO contact by him as to when i would receive them and i would have to constantly follow-up and attempt to get in contact. At this point, I couldn't get my pictures fast enough so i never had to deal with him again. THEN once i got my pictures in the mail, they were the WRONG pictures. I received pictures of a different couple and their wedding and did not receive mine at all. So i had to contact him on repeat AGAIN to let him know the mistake he made. Never did Michael go above and beyond to make amends for the extreme inconvenience and worry he caused me throughout working with him. To fix his mistake, he took another 3 weeks to send me the correct pictures of MY wedding that I paid for more than a year prior. I am very easy going, and forgiving and would have easily let this go had he called me just ONCE and sincerely apologized. I felt disrespected. Working with Michael K Photography was the worst decision I made.

If I could undo one part of our wedding, it would be selecting Michael K as the photographer. From not returning emails to not releasing our photos, Michael K was hands down the worst wedding vendor I worked with. So why one star? Because Michael was truly a nice guy to work with … up until the point he got paid. When we met with Michael months before the wedding, he was friendly, conversational and made us feel like we were long-time pals. But as soon as we signed the contract and he had his cut, the honeymoon was over. He became virtually unresponsive (to the point where he even had our wedding planner—a professional—genuinely worried when she couldn’t get a hold of him until the day before the wedding). On the day of the wedding, Michael messed up the schedule and came to photograph the bridesmaids before the groomsmen, causing me to have to hurry up and throw on my dress for photos and completely flushing our pre-wedding timeline down the drain and delaying the arrival of the entire bridal party to the ceremony. As for the photos, Michael didn’t bring the shot list I sent him and just flew by the seat of his pants. During family photos, the guy actually asked “What other shots do you want?” … The heck if I know! I just got married! There’s a reason I spent an hour listing out all the different family photo combinations and sending you screenshots of a handful of requested poses a month ago, when YOU asked for the list and YOURS TRULY didn’t have wedding brain. Needless to say, we didn’t get all the shots we wanted. Overall, his whole routine seemed rushed. He never took the time to arrange people or fan my dress, resulting in awkward spacing in group shots and a balled-up lace train in every shot. Flubs the timeline, forgets the shot sheet, flies through the photos ... It was like his irresponsible twin was filling in for him for the day. All that considered though, my biggest disappointments with Michael K came post wedding. I selected Michael K in large part because of the creative, unconventional shots he had in his online portfolio. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel this artistic expression shined through in our wedding photos. Our group shots were of the stand-in-a-straight-line-and-smile-at-the-camera sort and everything seemed staged instead of in-the-moment. Did we end up with some decent shots? Yes. Were they what I was expecting? No. But at least we had photos, right? [Plot twist] After requesting the link to digitally download the images, I never heard back from Michael K. A week passed, our gallery expired and no response. I reached out time and again, I called, I emailed, I left messages, I even called from a different number to see if he was just avoiding me, and still no response. I had paid $2,500 for wedding photos, and had nothing to show for it. I got back in touch with my wedding planner to ask what to do. She called him, she emailed him, she didn’t get a response. I checked the obits to see if he had kicked the bucket, nothing. This went on for four weeks. Ladies … I was Google Mapping his home address and figuring out if there was enough room to set up a tent on his front lawn and stage a sit in until I received my photos. True story. I was dumbfounded and irate. It blew my mind that you could pay someone thousands of dollars for a service without them having any expectation of ever delivering a product. Fortunately, a bit of googling turned up that his wife owns a wedding planning business. And fortunately, his wife is a heck of a lot more responsive than he is. Yes. I called his wife and tattled on him that he hadn’t released our photos. That night, I had a download link to our photos. No personalized message, no apology for trying to scam us out of our wedding photos, but a link to our gallery. And there ends the Michael K wedding photo saga. This guy is a real piece of work. I have no idea how he remains in business after providing such abominable and disreputable service. I would never recommend him in a million years.
