    After talking with the company, we paid the required 50% deposit for Legends Handyman Service to order a cabinet and complete a repair. There was a much back and forth with our original hire, and then a company rep when they had a COVID issue and had to reschedule. THREE TIMES no one showed up to scheduled appointment without even contacting us! Each time, we had to reach out to them. On the third time, I said I wanted my deposit back so we could hire someone else. Never heard from them again and the business is now listed as "temporarily closed". They STOLE $250. What they did was illegal. Period. I reported them to the BBB with no response from the company. I will now follow up with additional reporting action against them.

    Ty Harrington supplied us with an online estimate for deck repair along with a link for us to pay the 50% deposit (which we did). The work was scheduled, then rescheduled with excuse after excuse. Once the deposit cleared into his account we never heard from him again. We filed a police report, alerted the bank and sent a request for a refund of our deposit. Beware!!! Update to my previous review.: I see Mr. Harrington is claiming lack of workers to complete (begin) this job. I was scheduled for the end of May, not June. I have requested a refund and was denied. Again - an example of Legends Handyman and Tr Harrington’s scam operation. Ty Harrington - REFUND MY $787.58!!! Service: Power/pressure washing

    I asked Legends to come out and repair (trim down) a set of bi-fold closet doors that did not quite fit in the casing. I am new to Daytona Beach and want to establish a rapport with a handyman service for various projects that I do not have the time or in some cases know how to do. I took the day off to ensure I would be there within the prescribed window (noon to 4 pm). I reluctantly Venmo'd half up front upon scheduling ($75 as this job was at their $150 minimum fee). NOTE: I have always had reservations paying half up front for work as there is always a possibility the vendor could just take off and never pay you back. I have no problem paying upon commencement of the job then paying the rest in full after job is satisfactorily completed. I think there's more risk to the homeowner than the vendor as the vendor could always file a notice of lien on the homeowner. I think this is a bad policy, but can see both sides on this. Just feel there's more risk to the homeowner. Any way, I wanted the job to get done, scheduled it and was at the house to meet Legends. At noon, I received a text about issues at a job before mine and that they would be at my house around 2:30-3:00. I was fine as the new time they gave was still in the window. Got several more texts at 3 that they could not get to me as they had further issues on the other job, so he offered a reschedule and a 10% discount. I was not happy, but figured he had enough on his plate with the other job and, let's face it, I am still at the mercy of the vendor. So, I text back and say it's going to take more than 10% as I had to take a day off work. Long story short, I asked for a refund as I was not able to take another day off for a potential other reschedule and the dates he laid out would not work for me. I get it, things happen and small jobs are low on the food chain. Finally, after some technological issues, I received my refund 5 days later. I have no ill will towards Legends, but likely will find other handyman services that do not charge half upon scheduling. I have the money and am willing to pay for a job done, but I did not like having $75 hanging out there for several days. I gave 1 star because the job was not started, but I do appreciate and respect that he kept in contact with me about the issues at the job prior and tried to make it right with reschedule options and discounts. Reply to reply: You asked me to give a review. I did not plan to give one as no work was done. I am not sure why you feel additional stars are warranted for giving me back my deposit. It's not as if I asked for additional money for the day of work I missed. I don't really appreciate the "we did you a favor by giving you back your money" tone of your reply. A simple, sorry it didn't work out, but please keep us in mind for any future projects would have sufficed.
