Just called them this morning and the young lady driver with the neck tattoo was so uncaring, rude, and aloof. Get another job. People are sick, hurt, scared, dying even! They need a caring response as well as professional!

I was transported in August. I gave the EMT my insurance card, but because it was out of state insurance, it never got applied correctly. I emailed Patty (Supervisor) directly and her and Charles quickly sorted out my claim issue and got it paid. I see a lot of people complaining, but if you just take a moment to explain your situation, they will go above and beyond to handle the issue for you. I think they did a great job and I am so glad they were there for me when I needed it. Thank you!

I just had to call 911 for a friend. The fire department arrived first..as always, then the paramedic team. The fire department was professional, proficient and companionate. The EMT girl came in aggravated to be there and doing all she could to avoid taking my friend to the hospital. Her attempts to get her to say she didn't want to go were everything except "TELL ME YOU DON'T WANT TO GO". I told my friend to let them leave because they didn't want to take her and the young pock face girl told ME to leave!! The nerve of this young person...ugly inside and out...has chosen the wrong line of work!! As they were taking her out this person was still talking about me...rather than the health of my friend, hence showing her adolescent behavior yet again. After speaking with the fire department EMT I was informed that her behavior is common and 100% known and UNCALLED FOR. Yet nothing has been done to remove her from this position. Let me be the first to get this process started!! This young female has NO BUSINESS being a first responder. I have 5 other EMTs that were in that room and she was the only one unprofessional and completely unexceptable. I require a response and I will be calling WESH2 if I don't get one!! My friend may not even live thru the night and I promise I will be far more livid than I am now if she dies!!! She did die back then....6 days after this episode and still NEVER got a response from Volusia County EMT that was so AWFUL to her.

To whom it may concern at Volusia County EMS While driving on US 1 in new Smyrna Today 8/10/22 @3:20 I was traveling north when I noticed your vehicle #210 approach behind me and apparently the driver doesnt have to obey the speed limit in Volusia county because I was traveling above the speed limit to allow space between me and your driver apparently that was not fast enough for him because he passed me and about 10 other cars at a rate of 70 miles plus only to end up waiting at the light at nova. I would suggest if the your drivers is in that much of a hurry he should use his Emergency lights instead of putting himself and other drivers at risk.

On Aug 24 2022, My wife came home and found me in a chair that I could not get out of, and called 911. She told them she thought I had a stroke. I was incoherent, lethargic, weak and confused with a headache and slurred speech. The ambulance took me to the hospital where I was diagnosed with a Critical Subdural Hematoma. (A type of brain bleed). I was admitted and placed into ICU, the following day I had an Emergency Craniotomy operation which saved my life. I spent 13 days in the hospital recovering. Recently I received a bill from Volusia County for over $792.00 for transportation to the hospital which Medicare had determined to be NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY. The medics had stated that I only had a headache and was weak. Volusia County has repeatedly refused to recode the bill because of this. I suppose that it is hard to get anyone to admit that they made a mistake in quickly dismissing the seriousness of this call. Vol. County admits that the medics are not qualified to make a determination in this type of case, but they want me to jump through hoops to provide them with absolute proof that this trip was necessary. I am assuming that the person behind the desk coding the bill is infallible.
