    I would not recommend this hotel chain to my dog. We stayed at one locally and the front desk clerk intentionally gave our room with a king bed away while we were away from the hotel. Due to the activities in the area, there were no other places to stay so we had no choice but to stay in a room w/ a queen bed. Vantage Hospitality grp doesn't agree that we should get a refund of that night that we were screwed over by the property mgr. because we still used a room/facility. WORST hotel chain EVER ...

    On June 6th 2016 I went to check in at the Northwood Ohio Americas Best value Inn.I booked my room online and I asked for a jacuzzi room. When I got to the hotel I was told all jacuzzi rooms are on the second floor with NO elevator! My dad who was traveling with me has had both of his legs amputated. I was never offered any other room or anyway to solve this problem other then him crawling up 13 stairs. So he did that! When we get to the room there was NO microwave or mini-fridge like it clearly states in the email confirmation that I received. Which means my dad had no way to store his diabetic medicine. The room, the hallway, the stairs were not clean. When I went to the front desk about this I asked for my money back so we could go stay somewhere else. The front desk person told me I had to wait for the manager to come do that and he wouldnt be back until the next morning at 8am. I called the corporate number twice and left 2 messages for Ms. who has yet to return my calls. I went to check out and talk to the general manager Eric he had the worst customer service attitude I have even seen for a manager He was combative, unhelpful and argumentative! He told me that there was nothing that he was going to do because thats the room I booked. I stated if I knew it was on the second floor I wouldnt have booked it. When I asked about the microwave and mini-fridge he lets me that it is available upon request. When I asked him why wasnt I offered that when I said something about it last night he states "because we dont have any". He said there was nothing that he was going to do to help with the situation. I have reached out to corporate they will not call me back. I filed a Better Business Bureau conplaint and no one has responded. I am disputing the charge with my credit card beacuse that was not the room I asked for. I have even wrote the president of the company who happens to be on vacation for a month. This was unfair and humiliating to my father. On top of making lose $100 in medicine and making our trip hell! I am getting no help from this company and it is not fair that I have to pay for what I did not ask for on top of the rude customer service I received. Then to humiliate my dad and cost him to lose his medication is just way too upsetting for anyone. Please DO NOT stay here!

    Stayed at one of their America's Best Value Inn. It was the most disgustingly filthy hotel I've ever seen. The bed had food particles and crumbs all over it, the shower had soap scum so thick people had written their names in it. I checked in too late to change that evening, but went in search early the next morning for somewhere I could shower and come out cleaner than when I went in. They still charged me for the night even though I asked them not to and after repeated attempts to get a refund, they refused. Vantage, who manages this property with an independent owner/operator running the hotel has no control over their properties. They can't or won't offer a refund or insist that their property give even adequate customer service. It is apparent that Vantage makes money on their properties, but from what I have experienced, they don't care how those properties are managed or maintained. I would not recommend any property managed by the Vantage Hospitality Group.
