One star will always be the rating for a title company that doesn't read the line on the contract that is especially pertinent to the closing document preparation, the line that states who is responsible for the title fees. First, on a recent closing, the fee was considerably higher than the norm and secondly, they attempted to split the cost between the buyer and seller. Most likely because its so high. No doubt inexperienced agents and unsuspecting parties to the transaction often miss this tactic, which is exactly why they do it. When I emailed them asking them to remove the charge on my buyers side of the statement, they just replied "done". No apologies, no explanations, just "done". Its not good business. I've written this review with hopes that they may clean up their business practices and follow the golden rule.

I was a Realtor involved in a transaction with them. Their communication was poor, closing was delayed, we didn't get the final closing documents until hours prior to the closing and there were errors, a $700 fee was charged half to my seller and half to the buyer, it was embarrassing that the seller caught it and I had to call Central title to find out why the fee was there. They were unable to tell me and said "maybe it was in an email sent somewhere" but they never produced a copy of the email or an explanation. Another problem we had is that we sent them a disbursement authorization, or "DA" form which is instructions and a request for the funds to our company to be distributed in a certain way per our policy. The DA was simply ignored, they didn't care they just wrote one lump sum check to our company and made us have to break it out which took a week and delayed payment to us twice, once for the $700 error (2 days) and once for ignoring the DA (5 more days) I will never recommend anyone use this company ever. They get one star for actually closing the deal and one star for actually paying us, eventually.
