Shiki Sushi Bar & Restaurant

Took my order for delivery got my address after 1.5 hrs when they said it would be 45 min they call and say csme knocked left. . . I was in the living room the entire time and there was no knock. Turns out the driver got lost and didn't have a cell phone so gave up. Then wouldn't bring my food. Hope they actually refund my card. I had to order elsewhere after all that. What kind of delivery person doesn't carry a cell phone?

My wife and I have been here twice and both times it was way too long in between. This is easily the best sushi place in the bay area in our book. Everything is great not just the sushi and the setting is nice and intimate. Try the sushi boat if you wanna do it right!

My wife and I had a great time at Shiki! We were surprised that there weren't more people there considering the quality of the sushi. We sat at the Sushi bar, I enjoy watching my food being made. The owner is one of the Chef's the other is his son. They have over 50yrs experience between the two of them. Also the son's wife is the hostess and part of the wait staff. Its always great to find a family business. On to the best part......The sushi/sashimi was the freshest I have ever had. My wife who has been to Okinawa said it was the freshest she has had since Japan and the only fresher was a place where they cut the live fish in front of you. They order much of their fish local or from Miami or Georgia (when state regs. don't allow for retail sale of certain wild fish (cobia)) Fresh fish is so much better than frozen. This place is very clean and everyone is very nice and friendly. The prices are on par with any other place I have been to. The only thing you can't expect is americanized sushi. It is what it should be.....fresh fish with flavoring to compliment the fish. Not battering or needless sauce or anything else to affect the delicate balance that good sushi should be.

Dine here at least monthly. One of my favorite sushi restaurants anywhere. Authentic, fresh, family owned and operated. Sit at the bar and watch father and son create your meal!

My wife and I were first introduced to sushi almost 30 years ago. Since that time we have been to MANY sushi restaurants in the Tampa Bay Area and throughout the southeast. Shiki is, bar NONE, the best sushi restaurant we have ever experienced. They opened in 1995 I think and we are so pleased that they did. We live within walking distance of a Samurai Blue and we drive the 15 miles to Shiki instead. Their fish is the freshest ever and their regular Japanese meals are always cooked to perfection. I don't know where these people that wrote the bad reviews dined but it wasnt at Shiki.
