We ate here with some friends tonight, March 17, 2015. It is the first time we have been to this restaurant, it was recommended to us by our friends who were with us tonight. First, let me say that the waiter, Yohan, was very nice and accommodating. My friend and I both ordered the minestrone soup and shrimp parmesan, My friends wife and my girlfriend both ordered the eggplant parmesan, my friends wife also had the minestrone soup. The minestrone soup was virtually tasteless. The shrimp parmesan was obviously frozen breaded shrimp that was heated up and they melt some parmesan cheese on it and poured sauce over it. There is no way this was fresh or home made. You can simply tell by the taste and texture it was a frozen dish that was heated up. Both my girlfriend and my friends wife could not eat the eggplant parmesan. They said it too tasted as if it was frozen and reheated, not only that, is was mushy. They both returned their dinners. My girlfriend did not want anything else, but, my friends wife elected to have the chicken marsala. When that came, she said that too tasted terrible, though it was hot. She ate part of one piece and asked her husband to try a part of one piece, he too agreed it was not good, so, she returned that also. When the bill came, they did take of the two chicken parmesan meals, but not the marsala. The waiter said that the manager stated he was not taking off three meals. My friends wife asked for the manager who came out, with a bad attitude. He said she ate the one meal (chicken marsala) so he was not taking it off the bill. After speaking to the waiter, the manager learned that indeed, 90% of the meal was returned. A heated argument developed between the manager and my friends wife. My friends wife asked to speak to the owner and the manager said he was not there. Finally, the manager said he was taking the marsala off the bill. A few minutes later, the waiter returned with the bill and the marsala was still on it. The manager then argued again that he was not taking off the marsala. My friends wife stated that she was not going to pay for it, and, would, if necessary call the police. The manager said he would tell the police that we were not paying for the food and file a complaint. I stated that we should let the police come and make a report, then, if the manager refused to take it off, pay the bill and file an action in small claims court. Finally, a waitress came over and said she would resolve the issue, which she did. But, as it turned out, the “manager” was really the owner, and, the waitress was his wife. So, the “manage” was really the owner and lied to us. A truly professional restauranteur would have taken off the meals that were returned and asked us to please give then another try, which we would have. Now, he has annihilated us and we will never go back. Not only that, our friend call the restaurant a couple of times a month for pizza to take out. Our friends said their pizza is alway very good, so now, they have lost them as customers also. The owner simply has to know how to treat his customers, and, if the meals are returned, even is one or two bites are taken, he cannot insist on charging for the meals. We paid for the two lousy shrimp parmesan dinners and gave a very generous tip, 30% to the waiter. If you want good Italian food in Boynton Beach, try Mama Mia, there food is 1000% better.
