As a first time woodcarving I was bit intimidated coming into class, but Alexander quickly put us at ease with his humor and explanations of concepts. We were told that with woodcarving the brain had to retrain itself to think in 3d. By the end of the second day, it was as if a light bulb went on, and I was immersed in a whole new world of ideas for my project. From that point on carving became so much easier. I now see why people continue to come back to learn from Alexander. He truly is great.

As a first-time woodcarver, I was taken aback when I saw the photo of what we were to work on all week. BUT! I am so glad Alexander chose the project he did for us. What a great way to learn so many carving techniques and correct methods of carving! His demos include lots of technical teaching, but Alexander adds humor and many personal antidotes that are fascinating, heartwarming, and at times very funny. I also love the way he honors the Creator of the universe by staying true to carving the way the world was intentionally created.
If you have the chance to take a class from Alexander - do it!

Ive attended three classes with Alex so far and every time is a new experience and an opportunity to learn something new!!! I had never carved before but Alex is not just a master in woodcarving but an excellent instructor who helps you every step of the way.

First time wood carver this week. Alexander did a superb job introducing the art of woodcarving, a ton of background and a vast amount of technique only someone with his expertise and history could provide. I truly enjoyed the class and look forward to future classes with him.
