Apalachicola Airboat Excursions

First, the positive. They were able to move our booking to a later time slot that same day because of rain. Great communication from the office and the captain about where and when to arrive, what to expect, etc. The ride was fun, and even though we didn't see much wildlife (two bald eagles and a small alligator), that's no one's fault. Finally, our captain was willing to take us out despite the possibility of a bit of rain (no lightning). He communicated well about this choice and left it up to us. Very professionally handled. Great driver, and knowledgeable about the area. Now, the negative. Our captain told no fewer than three stories during which he caricatured the voices of Asians, Hispanics, and people with autism. Repeatedly prefaced these stories by saying, "Now, I'm not politically correct . . . " so this was more than just ignorance. C'mon, cap. It's 2022. There's a way to tell these stories and get your laughs without leaning on these impersonations. This was definitely a fly in the soup, but overall, the beauty of the area and the novelty of the fanboat were enough to make it worthwhile.

We had 12 family members go out on two boats today and had a blast; got to see a gator up close and personal! Captain Cook was fun, knowledgeable and we enjoyed his great story telling! A must do in Apalachicola!
