In so many words, they told me that they don’t accept my class of people. I ran into a Civil Rights issue, but apparently I’m the wrong class of person to get assistance from theme

The one positive review here for the Workers’ Rights Clinic is by Nicholas Katz, who himself works at the clinic, which is an obvious conflict of interest. I contacted the clinic about my former employer refusing to accommodate my disabilities. I could not speak directly to an attorney on the calls. Although I sent lots of documentation ahead of my scheduled calls, the intermediary I had to use was totally unfamiliar with my case and kept making mistakes, as well as long pauses when I asked even basic questions. When I asked to speak to an actual attorney, the clinic acted as though it were a huge imposition. I finally did speak to Mr. Katz but he refused to give me any advice. When I asked if I had a strong case, he said, “No lawyer will tell you that.†What he meant was, “No lawyer will tell you that for free.†With a laugh he admitted my employer had not accommodated my disability, but I already knew that. When it came to legal advice, referring me to a law firm, etc. there was no actual assistance. Don’t waste your time with this clinic. If you think you have a case, send your details to law firms and ask if they will take your case on contingency. Trying to get help from this clinic, even if you share details to get an informed opinion, is a waste of time. I imagine the only reason any attorneys associate with this clinic is so they can put it on their CV and give the impression they are good liberals when all they really care about is advancing their careers.

Totally unhelpful! I contacted them about a civil rights issue and got some glorified lip service. Unfortunate.
