I hope you never have to call this hotline. If I could assign them a zero I would. I was right there helping my friend make the call to get help. They are insensitive, unprofessional, and will exacerbate your trauma and the sense of isolation and confusion you can feel with this issue. The agent had no control over her emotions and was very ill equipped to manage the situation. The staff member shouted at my friend as she was explaining what happened to her and said that the information she was providing was too graphic. Her exact words where "that is too much. I don't need to know all that unless you want to report it to the police." That was her ghetto attempt at explaining the hotline policy. This is the worst place to call if you just experienced this type of trauma. Call the Domestic Violence Hotline and ask them to direct you to alternative resources. They will try to direct you here. Ask them for other resources.
