Dr. Tsaknis was able to fit me in for an emergency when my normal dentist couldnt. His staff was super helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. The office was clean and easy to find. Dr. Tsaknis took the time to really explain and walk through what my issue was and what my options were. Had a great experience!

I'm terrified of the dentist, and definitely not a fan of being in the exam chair. But CityDental is different. They are honest, caring, and go through the process at your pace.
The technicians listen vs. talking at you, and Dr. Tsaknis does the same. He makes his professional recommendations and explains why, then listens to your concerns. He does not force a treatment on you. It's why I trust them more than any other dentist I have been to in DC.
If you're looking for a great Dentist and want one worth traveling too, this is the practice to go to.

Caution to new patients: this dentist will happily book an appoinment, then call then night before to inform you they won't see new patients without first several hundred dollars worth of panoramic exray scans not covered by insurance. Purely there to make profit not serve patients.

We want to be transparent to all patients prior to coming in. We were able to contact your insurance provider and found out you had a history of seeing another provider who took x-rays recently on you. These items are needed to properly diagnose you and were not going to be covered, so we contact you to let you know the cost ahead of time. We serve our patients with the best care we can provide, unfortunately there is a cost for our services. We do accept X-rays from other offices.

This dentistry has permeated the DC area with multiple conveniently placed locations. I did not receive satisfactory care and did not like the way Dr. T spoke to me. I did not appreciate the hasty the bedside manner of his staff. Dr. performed a filling procedure on a tooth with a spot despite my xray confirming I did not have a cavity (and never had). The procedure was very unpleasant. In retrospect I would not have consented and would have sought a second opinion.
Unfortunately it seems private equity may have gotten to this practice, and it shows. I do not recommend this practice. There are still some privately owned practices in DC where you'll be treated with care and spoken to with respect.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. We don't double book, but sometimes procedures take longer than expected. We try to use our knowledge of dental insurance to help people make decisions regarding their dental treatment. Every procedure done here can be proven, is explained to the patient ahead of time and then agreed upon. Since you brought it up, your correct, we only did x-rays, a cleaning, an exam and a small filling and nothing else. We are happy that some of our patients take the time to write reviews on their experiences here, both good and bad. We don't pay for any review. We have three locations and unfortunately getting Google to get the name correct at the various locations is challenging, but we hope to get that resolved soon. We hoped your experience here could have been better and would hope we could possibly try again with another of our doctors and staff, to see if we can make your visit better. Thank you.

I love the care received from Dr. Laura Styron, very professional and they did a great job with my dental work. This review is more about the quality of customer service. During COVID they instituted a $16 per patient fee for PPE, reasonable. They continue to charge a $16 fee but it's just a surcharge with no explanation of what that money goes to. In addition, I requested in writing my medical records and / or any form I have to sign to receive the records and they still haven't sent it to me after 4-5 business days. I need those records to send to my new dentist. *Edit* as of 08/18/2023 they supposedly no longer charge the $16 fee and the medical release form has finally been sent
