Great location and building in excellent shape. Nice to have a front desk concierge and pool on the roof.

4 starts only because it took them 4.5 months to return my fob deposit after I moved out. Its supposed to take 4 weeks but they forgot to file it and then ignored me several times when I followed up by email. That was the only bad experience. Never had issues with pests/rodents (on the 1st floor), staff was friendly and helpful, common spaces were clean and well kept. They have 24 hr desk staff who can lend you a key if you lock yourself out. I was able to rent a pretty cheap parking spot from another resident which was great. Because its a coop the building administration is NOT your landlord, so I cant speak to how any of them are but the Feghalis. Very hands off folks (I met them once, when I toured) but I never had issues with the unit so there wasnt a need to contact them hardly ever.

After living in this building I can say first hand that NO ONE should put themselves through the misery of renting a unit here. One of the ONLY redeeming factors about this building is the fact that the front desk staff are (mostly) friendly and nice to talk to. Because the building is a Co-op (each unit is owned by a separate landlord) nothing EVER gets done in the building. If you need a repair done or need something looked at your landlord will tell you to check in with building maintenance, who will then respond as slowly as humanly possible and then the building employees will do everything in their power to deflect the issue to be your landlords problem to deal with. Not to mention the entire building management is so unbelievably lazy and inconsiderate that NONE of the building amenities were available to use until the last month of my lease EVEN THOUGH they were eligible to open things up months prior. It isn't that they weren't capable it is literally that the building pushed everything off as long as they physically could (and still do push things off) to avoid having to actually TRY to do literally anything. Overall the building is terrible and has an abundance of rats, management is unresponsive, and nothing is ever in use or functioning solely as a result of terrible management. For the prices that you pay to live in this building it is certainly not worth the headaches. 0/10 would not recommend to anyone.

Steer clear of this place! While the building itself is nice, it is not worth the headache of living here. Claridge has severe rodent issues. I constantly had mice scurrying around my studio apartment over the course of the year I lived here. It would come and go in waves, but when they were present in my unit it was terrible. What was even more terrible is the lack of response of the office. I complained about the mice on several occasions and was met with different variations of accusatory behavior (with the maintence man actually telling me to clean my apartment although it was clean and he had never even seen it) or the manager telling me "you know DC has a rat problem" essentially trying to absolve themselves from liability. They hired an exterminator who comes once a week. He is useless and clearly hates his job. All he would do is come in, move appliances around and tell me he would have maintence come in to fill in the holes. He is the professional yet he was leaving the work to be done by the untrained maintence staff. Maintence was in there almost weekly filling in holes yet the problem persisted. Anybody who is renting has the right to live in a habitable environment and this was not it. I'd highly advise against moving here.
