Forced myself to eat the oxtail because I didn't wanted to waste my money. Imagine that. The gravy was black and thick and overall salty salty x10. And no butter beans. That's a common and key ingredient that brings out the meat dish. By the presentation and being served it is not known. The cabbage was extremely over cooked with the salt. HIt's cabbage!! How can you over cook cabbage?? Is healthy eating not promoted here?? And wats's it with it and the SALT. That just made it HYPERTENSION. If you do not know Jamaican dishes you will rate K & R as the best. But it not the case in my opinion. If you know how the dishes are made, tasted, seasoned and should look. My beloved man had the curry chicken and narrowly escaped a hospital admission. I will say the same for me but smartly I didn't consume any. He continuously had to be on and off the tiolet like a human yo-yo. It has being extremly terrible for him with an already a weak stomach and K & R crashed it. Now he had to say his vows on several occasions It goes like this. "I WILL NEVER EVER EAT or BUY FROM THEM AGAIN." And I just added to his VOWS curried foods can be dangerous if one does not KNOW how to cook it and be selling it to the public. Evidently, the alleged make shift cookers don't know how to. Because he wouldn't have had diarrhoea. The ppl cooking the dishes need to be reshuffled with cook books in hand and return to Jamaican culinary school and learn from the best. Because that is not good and safe food and its not right. I told my man on multiple occasions that hey you got to be careful when it comes to curry and eating it from ppl. At one point pior we debated extensively about what to buy from K & R and in the end he said curry chicken I just wished him safe luck on it and said I don't want to any of that. He never brought it on that occasion Another thing is that it's like the food is just plastered in the container and its just looking like a slab of diarrhoea in a plastic container, disgusting. Seems as if there is no care when putting the food in the container. Its just a down right turn off. The restaurant it self is greatly built but the food needs a better master chef and not just random cookers who basically in my opinion cannot cook. Not everyone can follow a basic recipe expecially the seasoning. And don't try to justify this. It would be better for it to be bland than the heap of salt. The cookers are to heavy handed. They cook it as they would eat it. And whats it with the swimming pool (gravy) is just visualy unappetising. See pic. How can you present that thing. I think the best pics were photo shopped as it is nothing served or look like what is being sold to the public. Who in their right screws serves food like that know to the fact in the resturant world ppl eat with their eyes as well. You don't know what going on underneath it and maybe afraid to know. Don't know who the managers they should call an emergency meeting as this needs attention before someone is seriously ill. But they may not even know what is being sold to the public. This is our experience and it cannot be justify when someone narrowly escaped a hospital visit and admission. AND don't counteract this by stating "you didn't mention our expectations' it just a poor excuse. Because other ppl left their reviews by the way ppl "Don't forget to bring your water" and lots of as the salt is the highlight of the resturant and the swimming pool (gravy) This is my experience and not a personal thing. One cannot be criticize for their own experience. I do not eat curry from outside because I know it can be dangerous if not cooked properly. Not many people know this. I had to inform whomever I know if they contemplate to purchase it.

Thank you for your opinion, we appreciate you taking the time to share this information with us, we are very sorry for any problems we have caused you and your husband, in saying so we would like for you to please notify us to hear more of your concerns . our staffs and cooks are very well sanitized because we ourselves eat every meal made in this establishment, and is very aware how sensitive curry can be, with your opinion which is highly going to be look into, most of our Jamaican customers who comes to the restaurant love and appreciate our food and those who doesn’t will voice the opinion just like yours, it seems like your review is very personal as you stated ; our staff who has been incredibly praised ,and mentioned on this platform and others that left us great reviews, you are trying to discredit their opinion and taste by calling us the best Jamaican food , you and your husband debate about what type of Jamaican food you buy or people you eat from, since your mind was already made up before you came in the restaurant, that shows your mind was already made up, there was nothing we could have served you to suit your needs, and since most Jamaican knows curry is a sensitive food and had to be handled carefully you used that to back your opinion, as you yourself said not everyone can cook. We believe there’s room for everyone to learn , improve and master their crafts as long as you are willing to learn, some great examples are McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A , or Chinese food, someone came up with what ingredients to use in their food and now they’re a big franchise around the world, using the same ingredients and recipes to prepare their food , who are the ones who preparing and selling these food? People of different backgrounds and cultures like myself, I work at McDonald as a teenager, they teach you without a culinary skills or degree and we all buy their food, so it is safe to say that our Jamaican cook can learn, improve and master with or without a culinary education, at k and R as long as we cook our food with love and dedication we are very proud to serve our community and nationwide customers. Also we cook accordingly to public health and safety, so as much as we want to add some of our personal favorite herbs and spices as you do when you cook at home , we have to consider the public who doesn’t like spicy food or certain very high allergen ingredients that we use in our personal cooked food, so please consider as much we want to please people we have to think about their safety first, so it is very impossible to please everyone, especially our international customers, who believe this should be this way, but we do our best to ensure everyone needs are being met, we love what we do and work hard to make our blessings reach each of our customers in the way we serve and cook our food, no debate here , this is why we take each of our reviews personal , and highly consider opinions good or bad , we strive to make Changes based off majority, so again our Jamaican cooks still consider those other Jamaican who said otherwise, as for the gravy our sever used to get a lot of complaints about giving too little, because many Jamaican doesn’t like lot of gravy on their food, but due to that assumption we made, many Jamaican comes and ask for more gravy surprisingly, so it has been a confusing journey for our servers, we always encouraged them to ask customers if they want lots of gravy or less, our customers are also encouraged to tell the server if they want lots of gravy or not , it seems neither suggestion wasn’t taken, so again we apologize and very sorry we couldn’t meet your needs, as long as we are striving your opinion and others will be considered and changes will be made if needed, Thank you and your husband for trying us, and please feel free to reach out to us. Stay blessed and safe.
