Ryan Homes at Silver Woods

My wife and I bought our beach/retirement home at Silver Woods and could not be any more pleased with the process, from start to finish. John DiPietro at the sales model was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful during the process of selecting our model and all the options we were looking for. The construction manager Bobby was also very responsive and kept us up to date weekly on the progress of our home, sending us many updated pictures as the home was being built. So far, everyone we have met, from sales to construction to neighbors, has been extremely enjoyable. Highly recommended community! We are excited about our future here.

Pleased with our home, BUT..... We shopped for our retirement home visiting a number of developments on the Delaware eastern shore. One of our requirements was a water view. We found the Ryan Homes Silver Woods development close to our daughter’s beach house that had a nice pond that was right behind several lots and we selected and purchased what we thought was “the best “ of those lots. Things went smoothly with the construction and we closed several months later. All through the construction process and after closing we were so pleased with our decision until about 8 months later when the storm water management pond behind our house went dry. Now the retirement home that we were so excited about has an ugly mud hole behind it. No more ducks swimming around, no frogs chirping at night. We are heart broken! Unfortunately Ryan Homes does not seem to care and hasn’t offered to correct the problem (would be simple to adjust the overflow drainage system). They have our money and they are moving on to screw someone else. Watch out!!!!! An Update: Things are getting better as the club house and swimming pool are nearing completion. My original complaint about the "dry pond" behind our house is in the process of major modification. New plans have been drawn-up, permits issued and heavy equipment deployed. They have been hard at work for two weeks now and I anticipate another week or so and all the excavation will be completed. The final result will be a multi acre pond, filled with water, including water platings and a fountain for beautiful views from the rear of our house. In the near future, we should have the amenities we expected when we bought our house.
