Golden City Restaurant

Today (3/17) for work our lunch order was called and placed at 11:20am. We order at least once a week delivery which is located 1.2 miles one way mind you. Usually a hefty $50 order with normally a generous tip. After going through the motions of placing said order, name, delivery or pick up, food, sides, drinks, price, estimated time for delivery, it is getting closer to our 30 minute lunch break being over, which is 12pm to 12:30pm. Mind you we called, placed our order at 11:20am. So while 12:30 was approaching, we called to ask the status of our order, but after three rings would go to a voicemail. So after getting forwarded to a voicemail, I just leave a message saying our address and wondering on status? Well, since it was almost 12:45 at this point, I figure I'll take one for the team and drive the 1.2 miles and pick it up? See what's going on? What is even happening here? Upon arrival to just at least get our lunch which we missed, the store is CLOSED. How in the world did we call the restaurant, give them our name, address, phone number, multiple items, sides, given a total for our order, & an estimated time of arrival, for me to drive down there after 85 minutes of waiting and calling? Please tell me how this is at all possible, or acceptable. So, thankfully IGA is next door so just got ours levels some sandwiches. Thank goodness we didn't pay with a credit card, how could I explain that one to the credit card company! Regardless of their poor service and communication, lack of professionalism. And whatever else you could fill in the blank with, the food is decent, priced how you'd expect, you know the grease is changed regularly because the golden fingers are always clean and crisp, they have good combo meals. But GOD DAMN. This experience for us and our co workers, who mind you order once maybe sometimes twice A WEEK! With hefty size orders. This will never happen again, because minor things have happened before we let slide, but how as a business take an order and be closed?

Just ordered food from there. Worst pork egg foo young ever. Along with the spring rolls and gravy for the egg foo young. Never again.

Kind delivery! Beef and broccoli is phenomenal. Little salads were great! All meals were decent! Gave a generous amount of sweet and sour sauce. Egg rolls were different than what we normally eat but not bad and good crunch. Everyone has different taste, but do yourself a favor and go off of your own opinions. Satisfied! Thank you.
