Red Lulu Cocina & Tequila Bar

My new favorite place in Salem. The black and red gothic decor makes you feel like you are in an episode of True Blood. Drinks are made with exotic ingredients like mescal, rose hips and bacon and they have a wide selection of concoctions made with liquors other than tequila if it is not your thing. The music was a great mix of rap, hip hop, disco, 80s, 90s and top 40--all dance-worthy. The waitress was knowledgeable of the menu, ingredients used in our drinks and Salem in general. And to top it off, you get "blood" splattered cotton candy with your bill. No bar is Salem can compete.

They run out of chips at like 9pm? Bowl of guacamole, while being horrible anyway, just say there. Service was so bad. Waitress is dancing to the DJ while we're waiting to order. It's as if they're trying to copy the Barcelona staff but neglected to train anyone. Chicken overcooked. Seems like everyone that works here just has their own agenda. Felt like I was on an episode of "Punked" but Ashton never jumped out to say "you didn't think a place could really be this bad!!". Instead, all we got at the end was a silly tower of cotton candy. Who the mastermind behind that move was I'll never know. :)
