The school and camp experience is just magical! All what summer experience should be and more! The teachers are top notch and so very warm, kind and caring! My kids are excited and look forward to go to school each day!

My 4-year-old attended summer camp here last year and I was entranced by the gorgeous play yard, I liked the fact the kids cooked together and that there was an emphasis on respecting our environment by living and playing simply, etc. However, due to the wide range of ages in the fairly sizeable group and lack of adequate adult supervision during outside playtime, my son told me some horrifying stories about what was actually happening on the playground. One day, an older child "lassoed him" by placing a rope over his head and tightening it around his neck. This is not a joke. Luckily, one of the teenage helpers saw the incident in time to stop it. I immediately expressed my concern to the teachers about this dangerous play but my son continued to experience extreme bullying. After two more attempts to talk to the teachers, they assured me they had handled the situation, but once their backs were turned, the bullying would resume. They turned a blind eye to it and did not properly deal with this problematic behavior. Perhaps this is due to the rationale that the children can work out problems on their own, or that they somehow "deserve the punishment" - if you are not familiar with with the school, its practices and philosophy, please do your research. I failed to do this and paid the price. theatlantic.com/national… independent.co.uk/news/e…
