Sound Home Inspection, LLC has been a client of Aquatek Lab for over 20 years. And what a great partner to have! They pick up and drop off water samples and the communication with the friendly staff at Aquatek Lab is A+++. !!! We continue to enjoy our working relationship with Aquatek Lab. We would not be able to take water samples during our home inspections without them. Their reports are emailed quickly and communicate very clearly as to the potable and non-potable status of the water samples taken during our home inspections. We love Aquatek Labs! We highly recommend Aquatek Labs as a business partner.

We had our new home water tested, but Instead of correcting a clear erroneous test result, customer service choses to be defensive and accusative. Very poor customer support and attitude.

Prior to purchase of our house, my partner and I had our home inspector do a well water test with Aquatek Labs for analysis before and after treatment. The results came back with a near doubling in hardness and calcium after treatment due to the acid neutralizer in place. While this makes scientific sense, the pH was identical before and after treatment, which doesn't since the values would affect each other. After buying the house and moving in, we re-tested the pH before and after treatment and came up with a result that made sense (an increase of about 0.5 in pH after treatment that makes our water neutral). So I e-mailed the contact who had sent me the results, Randy, to inquire as to how this was possible. Randy is the director of client services. When I didn't get a reply for a week, I called and spoke with Randy. After explaining the situation to him, he had no answer as to why the pH remained the same before and after treatment and insisted that Aquatek's lab results could not possibly be incorrect. Since we paid our home inspector $575 for both tests, I asked if it would be possible to re-test at no cost. He said they'd be happy to re-test but I would have to pay again. And when I asked if it was possible that a mistake had been made, he then grew very defensive and said it sounded like I was accusing the lab of false results. After a further inquiry from my partner, he then had one of their chemists triple-check the previous results and despite science, still insisted that the lab results are correct as is, no error had been made and no free service will be offered. I don't really understand the customer service approach of refusing to acknowledge any responsibility on the company's part. We're not trying to be malicious or get a freebie - we just want to know that we paid a good amount of money for a service that is reliable. Any company with integrity regarding the reliability of their service would come up with a better solution than denial and refusal.
