I find the nursing staff - RNs, LPNs, and nursing assistants, all very caring and provide warm, personal care. The Therapy Department is phenomenal and they strive to help residents live to their highest potential.

I had a lovely visit with Betsy today. Hallways and her room were sparkling clean. Everyone was cheerful and friendly.

Unfortunately this place has had a long decline with rude nursing staff, below average care, and bad management of skin infections and wounds, and lack of education for hospice care. It was sad and a shame to see middlebury convalescent become complete care.

Middlebury Convalescent has suffered a steep decline in care ever since the switch to Complete Care. My father entered there a few years ago and though unhappy to be there he was treated well, and the staff seemed very attentive and empathized with him and the other residents. However, with the new management and his decline in health (entering into a hospice program) it has become clear Complete Care and their new staff members are unable to give their residents the level of care they deserve. Just a few examples are how they say they will honor hospice care, but then contradict themselves by not following through with comfort foods or counseling. My father was also slumping over in his wheelchair for days before they finally found him a bolstering pillow. It was suggested by his hospice nurse that a different type of wheelchair would help him. A new wheelchair was procured, but they didn't try putting him in it for days, only to find out it was too small. Then a second one is acquired, but sits in the hallway only to dissappear. The only reason it was found days later was because his hospice nurse from an outside organization found it and made them switch it out with his old one. At the time of this review, my father has been moved out to a different facility. It saddens me to see what has become of what was Middlebury Convalescent. I can only pray Complete Care turns things around before any other residents suffer as my father did.
