Magnificent Megan ... a Comforter, a Healer .. and a Friend! I would recommend her wonderful services to anyone. After one year of consistent counseling --- it feels like a lifetime! Grieving has been less and less with the light of Megan... an ANGEL sent for sure!

It's very challenging to find a great therapist these days who can get results without making a patient feel uncomfortable. Katie at Southern Connecticut Behavioral Health is highly skilled, empathetic, and encouraging. Too often we rely on those closest to us for the perspective we need, but rarely are friends or family members properly qualified or trained to do so. But it is important to have a therapist with a personality that's easy to relate to and that's why I recommend Katie and Southern Connecticut Behavioral Health.

Im not even sure if this practice has a location at this address, but Im posting the review here as this is the address I was given. I meant to write a review of this place because I saw/was in contact with two therapists at this practice and felt it was important to share my experience. I initially saw a therapist here who was not a good fit for me for more than one reason, but one of these reasons is that she only offered remote sessions and she chose to use FaceTime as a therapy platform. The fact that there are still many workers who refuse to go back to providing in-person services can be impractical to say the least (especially in the healthcare industry) and I found the use of FaceTime as a therapy platform to be highly unideal. However, here is my biggest issue with this practice. After expressing my desire for in-person sessions, I was satisfied to be referred to another therapist at the practice who offered in-person sessions. After setting up an appointment with her at this address, I showed up to the address only to not be able to find the practice, and be met with silence and left in the dark after trying to contact her. It has been more than two days since our appointment and I have not heard back from her about our missed appointment. What kind of a practice is this? I wish I had positive things to say about this therapy practice as I wanted to have hope, but unfortunately I was let down. Very unprofessional and disappointing to say the least.

I have just started working with Beth  and have really connected with her. A friend recommended Southern Connecticut Behavioral Health to me. I called and spoke with Ralph and he spoke with me for a while and asked me what I was looking for in their services and he said that he could definitely help me out. He told me to expect a call from Beth and I received a call from her within a couple of days. We chatted and set up our initial appointment. I have been meeting  with  her once a week for a month now and couldn't be any happier. We are meeting virtually due to the pandemic and it is just like being in person. I look forward to working with Beth. She has already helped me immensely. I have been in therapy for decades and feel very welcomed here. Everyone that I have dealt with has been more than helpful and have gone above and beyond.  I highly recommend Southern Connecticut Behavioral Health.

I highly recommend Southern Connecticut Behavioral Health. My therapist Ralph Arnone has been a true blessing for me. I have struggled with undiagnosed mental illness for years, if not decades. I have seen a therapist before , years ago ,and it just wasn't a match. So, I assumed that's just how it was, no one can truly understand you right? But then I met Ralph. I clicked with him right away and he just knew my mind. It is not easy at all to tell a perfect stranger all your faults and struggles and then be judged and critiqued. This is what happened at my first therapy appointment years ago, so I was just shocked when my experience with Ralph was the complete opposite. I felt at ease talking to him, I wasn't nervous he was going to think I was a complete nut job and reprimand me for being me. He was so calm and reassuring. But most of all, he was comforting. For the first time in my life, I felt like, I was not alone in my mental struggle. The first thing I realized about Ralph, is that he is there, doing this incredible service to those of us in need, because he cares. He takes pride in his career and is extremely intelligent in his field but also very compassionate. Ralph is not going to just tell you what to do or think about whatever situation you may be in. He is going to direct you and coach you and lead you to the positive path. He makes sure your thought process brings you to the positive outcome. He makes you understand that there are other ways of thinking that you never even knew existed. Im a hot mess, depression, anxiety, bipolar, possible BPD and whatever else may be lurking in this mind of mine, but I'm feeling like it's all going to be ok. I can handle this. I understand this. And I would not be to this point I'm at today, if it wasn't for Ralph. Words can never express the gratitude I have for him. Ralph, from the depths of my mind and the bottom of my heart, thank you for being you. The world needs a hell of alot more Ralphs!
