Green Island Jamaican Food

First, be warned, not all food is available upon walk-in. Most entrees have to be ordered in advance, cook-to-order, which was a shame as I was seeking callaloo & saltfish. However we adjusted, and selected from the ready-made food, which included jerk chicken, curry goat, brown stew chicken, patties, etc. The curry goat was well cooked-- a little light on the curry but tender & flavorful, & I appreciated the extra gravy over my rice. The patty & cabbage were fine, but the collards were inedible-- we all tasted it. Waaay too spicy. Like, kill dead spicy.

Food is extremely expensive with small amount of content Spice bun was hard and not tasty Management needs to evaluate food cost and make better decisions on cost Small food $14 outrageous Three pieces of plantains & teaspoon of vegetables not to mention the rice for $14 way over priced Food was not enjoyable

I agree with all the negative reviews on here. Im not from NY but even in Waterbury and Bridgeport you can get really great Jamaican food. This Food had no flavor and it was WAY overpriced. $25.00 for what was supposed to be a medium but was really a small for jerk chicken with rice and a sprite. I pay $12.50 in BPT for a medium, same in Wtby. Even the sprite was flat lol. Crazy Crazy Crazy.
