NEW MOM CONCERN Hello everyone. I am a new mom to a beautiful little 9 month old boy. My husband and I are new to Bethel and are excited to raise our son here. We are big on helping local businesses and when we were looking for daycares we wanted to do just that, so my husband and I chose PRECIOUS MOMENTS in Bethel. The owner was very nice and we were initially happy with this decision. However, we ran into numerous concerns and ended up completely distraught. For one, the workers kept calling my son a different name on their check-in app and in-person. Then, he was coming home with other babys clothes, bottles, pacifiers, etc. We brought up our concerns to them but they minimized it saying, mistakes happen. We were upset, but understood that. Then there was a time when they told me they fed my son but he came home with full bottles. Almost every photo they took were of him crying and he is usually a very happy baby when around people. He was losing weight; so much so that our pediatrician said something to us. That is when we knew we had to leave. Every time we approached the workers and the owner they always had an excuse for their behavior. When we found a new daycare, but had to wait two weeks, my husband and I were fearful of telling them because I was afraid they would do something to my son. The purpose of this post is not to degrade the daycare. I am sure other people had different experiences with them. I know they have been open for a long time so it cant be all bad. But the purpose of this post is to share my reality and to warn/educate other parents. We are new parents and are traumatized by this experience. Luckily now our son is with another daycare we are very happy with and he is okay. There were other things that happened that I cant post because it is so personal, but I just hope no one else has this experience. When you send your precious child to daycare, you expect them to be safe and well taken care of. We were horrified and a little traumatized by our experience. We are hoping our son will be more resilient than we are and able to bounce back without reprocussions. He has since (immediately) started gaining weight and eating better since the move. He is much happier.
