These people are evil and thankfully they will be shut down from this. They don't care about the students but only care for their money.

See you all on CNBC's American Greed... If 0 stars were possible, that's what Voyageurs would get from the thousands of kids it has screwed for almost a year now. Could have been so different... lot's of companies faced challenges with Covid, but these unethical folks kept millions of dollars from thousands of student families with no justification - just pure greed. Pity they didn't approach the situation more reasonably, but, as they say - Karma is a *itch!

I hope Voyageurs International goes out of business for what they have done to thousands of kids and their families, robbing them of their hard-earned money put toward what they thought would be the trip of a lifetime. Fine print or no, when doing the right thing mattered most during an unprecedented time in history, they failed. Do not trust your money with them ever.

I believe this company had a very good reputation prior to 2020. Our family was planning a trip to Europe with Voyageurs and were very much looking forward to our vacation. Unfortunately Covid-19 forced the cancellation of the tour, which is understandable given the worldwide pandemic. We had signed a contract and made installment payments knowing that if we cancelled after a certain date we would lose $1900 per person as spelled out in the contract. The contract was pretty clear that if the family/student was cancelling this policy would be in place. When the trip was cancelled by Voyageurs, I was understanding, again I realized we were in the middle of a pandemic and that many people had things much worse off. The company sent out a notice that they were keeping the $1900 per person noted in the contract, at first I was disappointed but I realized that the company likely incurred many expenses that were out of their control and they had to cover these expenses to at least come close to breaking even. Here's where the problems start: any attempts by anyone trying to contact the company to get any information at all about the costs the company incurred that were not returned (airline fees, hotels, etc.) were met with complete silence. Try to call and get a voice mail with no return call. The letter sent out clearly stated that the $1900 was to cover the expenses Voyageur incurred that they could not get back. Luckily several states attorneys general have investigated and found out that Voyageurs did indeed get refunds for much of the costs, and then refused to pass along these to the customers. Thankfully we have now gotten our $1900 per person back thanks to the efforts of these attorneys. If the company had shown a little bit of basic customer courtesy, if they had sent out a letter that said "we have incurred a lot of expenses and we don't know what we are going to be reimbursed, we will contact you once things are finalized and pass along these reimbursements as we are able," this would have saved a lot of grief for the company and for the families involved. I would have understood not getting the full $1900 back, if they had just been transparent and up front about what costs they incurred and what they were unable to recoup. Perhaps some other companies will look at this as an example of how not to treat the customer in the future. It pains me to write this because as I said, everything I had heard about Voyageurs prior to this was positive and we were really looking forward to our trip. Hopefully they are able to recover from 2020 and continue offering trips to students in the future.
