Been going thier for 15 years give or take a few years. This place and doctor C has gone downhill rapidly over the years very unfortunate, plenty of attitude from doc and her signature shoulder shrug. With a matching what can i do about it. I was diagnosed with a cold last visit. OMG nope that wasn't it..! Get a second opinion if you go there. Or stay far from her. Hopefully the other doc's have a litlle more empathy then her.

I think I'm at my limit with this provider. I've seen three doctors here: Dr. Czartolomna, Dr. Mark Flanigan, and Sara Flanigan. I was told this was "Dr." Sara Flanigan on that visit, but in reviewing the website, she's a Physician's Assistant, not a Physician. I think it's a bit ironic, because I feel she provided the most personal and helpful care in my opinion. But as a patient I should have been told. I was charged the same as if I'd seen a Physician after all. In the past, I originally saw Dr. Czartolomna, but decided to drop any preference in physician when one day she saw my wife and I at the same time (for different health conditions), checked my progress, and told my wife (who, again, has a separate, very unrelated condition to mine with different needs) "just do what he's doing." That wasn't helpful. My wife hasn't been back since. Most recently (Feb 2020) I went in to get an updated prescription for Metformin (I'm a T2 Diabetic), and Dr. Flanigan insisted on a blood panel. Fine, did that. I came back with elevated ALT and blood glucose (no kidding) and he insisted on a follow up. I was okay with this, but upon getting the follow up blood work today, I found he requested a hepatitis panel, presumably because of my elevated ALT. Now this bugs me for two reasons: Firstly, I'm currently unemployed and explained this on my visit. I'm also currently uninsured due to this. The first blood panel was only ~$60, but with the hep panel, the second round of blood work was nearly $300. Ouch. Second: if he'd reviewed my history, he'd know that literally every time I've had blood work with this office, generally my initial test comes back with elevated ALT. I've dealt with off and on fatty liver issues in conjunction with my diabetes, and it goes away generally as long as I can exercise and eat properly (I couldn't at my last job... it's why I quit, and also why I was now at the doctor's office). Mind, it's always gone on the second round of blood work. The reason this is so frustrating is that the Hepatitis panel costs more than all the other blood panel items combined, and realistically, I feel another standard panel of the same tests as previous should have been requested before jumping to that. My blood glucose levels are at literally half of what they were when I was initially seen and I've been exercising and dropped nearly 10 lbs. I feel a hep panel should only have been needed should I still have elevated ALT on the second set of tests. As far as I know, I don't have Hepatitis, and have no symptoms as such. I wish the doctors at this location were more inclined to listen to patients. More than once I've been told "oh no, going low carb is bad, this diet won't work, don't do that. You should be on this diet." (Mediterranean was recommended, one full of pastas and white carbs). Only to turn around and have the doc later say on another visit "oh, your results are great, just keep doing what you're doing." (Basically, you're fine okay bye, P.S. here's the bill). At one point, Dr. Mark Flanigan even had the nerve to tell me (in seriousness, as far as I could tell) that my Diabetes was cured when I had an hbA1c result of 5.1 (essentially "normal person" result). I ended up explaining to him it was diet, exercise, and health management, and that I'm not, and will never be "cured" of diabetes. Now this time around, he also chose to chide me, and snark at my desire to address my health (which, I literally quit my job to do, since I was away from home 13 hours a day due to it, which is what led to my issues, eating poorly and not having time to exercise). All told, I don't feel this is good care. And sadly, I do feel this is the state of healthcare in America in general. I don't hold it personally against any of these doctors, but frankly I feel like we need something better than this.
