Fitness 19

Physically this gym is OK. The fellow patrons are actually the best part about this place. The morning crew are all regulars and all very nice people. The facility borders on not-so-clean, but is bearable. The real problem with this place is management. Like classic gyms from the 1990's they make it as difficult as possible to quit. I moved from Longmont and needed to cancel my membership. I called the gym and was told that I had to either do it in person or by letter, via certified mail. I was also told that nobody except for the manager could process my request, and that the manager only works weekdays from 11am to 5pm (when everyone else in the world works). Never mind the fact that the person who signed me up was certainly not the manager. Requiring members to quit in person or by certified mail Is not illegal, but is it scammy and manipulative. I sent my cancellation to Fitness 19 some months ago via certified mail and was told that no cancellation notice was received. I sent another cancellation letter over a week ago via FedEx and have heard nothing. However, I have in that time received notice that they could not properly charge my credit card for membership dues and that will send the charge to collections if I do not square it with them. My guess is that this will end with me wasting my lunch talking to a rude manager who will attempt to bait me into some kind of 'bro out' over a gym membership... In any event, don't get involved with these people. They're not worth your time. Update: Unsurprisingly, a follow up call over a week later showed no sign that my cancellation letter had been received or processed. Only a manager can process such items and said manager is, as always, not in. I am now stuck waiting for a phone call from the manager. Any guesses as to whether or not they will call?

I used to work out here from 2011 till 2012. Then I went to planet fitness for 3 years. I recently (in January) rejoined fitness 19 because they have a kids room and planet fitness does not. I was going to go to Golds but it was way too expensive so I rejoined fitness 19. Had to pay a 60 dollar sign up fee. My son and I loved coming here even though it's run down bad. Today I get a letter in the mail from them saying they are closing down and all memberships will be transferred to planet fitness. Well since I left planet fitness to join fitness 19 I didn't want to go back so I just canceled my membership. No refund on the 60 dollars and they said they won't bill me for this month, they better not. I should have just went to Golds in the first place. Soooo unprofessional!

Complained to the BBB about this business because they forged a personal training contract. They ADMITTED to doing this and still refused to refund me my $300. The district manager is unprofessional, and the business is ran for their benifit and certainly not the customer. They said if I wanted my money back I had to take them to court. They are scam artists, and because they offer low memberships rates they keep getting business. DON'T GO HERE. They will do and say anything to get you to sign on, and then FORGE the rest! Gave 1 star because there isn't an option for ZERO stars.

Apparently they are incapable of telling you rates and specials over the phone. They wanted me to make an appointment to come in for a tour, I just wanted to call and compare regular monthly rates at a few gyms, if you refuse to tell me that over the phone then I'm not going to bother investigating your gym further. There were plenty of more helpful gyms out there.
