We have been members for years and signed up with this Gym because of the amenities i.e. Whirlpool Hot tub/ pool steam and sauna rooms this location has closed the hot tub for the unforeseeable future and so has the Lakewood Location for supposedly the same reason at the same time both stating leaking pipes. This is bad business to let the facility get run down and not make needed repairs or to just close something claiming it is due to broken pipes. There is too much of a coincidence and as a member who signed a contract based on what the facility offered this is not good. I will be calling other facilities to find out if they are experiencing the same issue all at the same time and will be making a call to Tom Martino and 7 News to investigate.

In case you missed it, the majority of Bally clubs were bought out by 24 Hour Fitness, including this one. I've been a 24hr member for a while now, and my normal club (Kipling Sport) has become so unbelievably busy - even before the January rush, and during non-peak hours - that i've been looking for an alternative. This place will do nicely, but its in need of a serious makeover. I'll probably just sound like a spoiled 24hr member, but a lot of the equipment is very dated. The weight room has a decent selection of weights and racks/benches, but it's very crowded. It's a small space, so it doesn't take many people in there to make things feel cramped. Also, the weights are all very old school (iron plates), and not the nice rubber-coated stuff i'm used to at all other 24hr gyms. The spin room leaves a lot to be desired, and many of the bikes are old with something broken. It's again a very small space, and there are probably only 15 or so spin bikes...so show up early if you want a space in class. There's a massive selection of machines if you're into that, but it seems to be a poor use of space. I feel like a simple redesign of the floor plan would open things up considerably, and allow some more room for equipment. There's also fun things like a racquetball court, crossfit area, and a running track that aren't usually seen at 24hr gyms. So that's very nice! The moral of the story here is if you're a Kipling regular who's tired of the crowds, give this place a shot...you'll cut some time out of your workout just because you don't have to wait! You can still get a perfectly effective workout, just don't expect it to be as 'nice' as you might be used to. I'm expecting a complete 24 Hour Fitness makeover shortly, so I doubt it will be like this much longer.

On May 31, 2014 I paid for a new membership to Bally Total Fitness to replace a previous membership that I had with them. I had been a member for over 20 years and then suddenly was told that the previous club was being purchased by another Company and my membership was no longer valid. I signed a new contract, paid $159 and asked the employee Nick to confirm that the child care was included since that is the only reason we patronize the club. He said it was not automatically included but that he would add it on for me with no additional charge. I watched him as he checked the box on the computer to verify child care was included. Today, November 22, 2014 we were told that child care is not on my membership. This is after over 5 months of bringing our children to the club every Saturday. I asked the club manager, Cody, what we could do to fix this and he said nothing; it would be something corporate would have to handle. He proceeded to argue with me over the contract. I told him the contract was then fraudulent since a ‘bait and switch’ tactic was used; I was told child care was included in my membership and five months later told it wasn't. Unfortunately, I have also dealt with the corporate headquarters and their customer service is no better than the local clubs. If they believed in good customer service, they would have apologized for their error, added the child care on, and then when the contract came up for renewal, renegotiate terms. Worst treatment ever from a customer perspective. Beware!

Where to begin about the...interesting(?) experiences had at this facility? Well... - Upon walking into this gym, rarely is there ever a representative at the desk if you were to have a question/comment/concern or want to buy any of their (sub-par) supplements or other (generic) products. - The staff, when they could be bothered to assist, were impatient, snide, and particularly gifted at condescending exchanges or just purely incompetent at doing their job. - Equipment was unkempt and lacked cleanliness. And as a whole, the facility was deteriorating. BUT it's redeeming qualities included the new Crossfit section (the area it's placed in is just slightly bigger than my bedroom!), its convenient location and low competitive rates. Of course, after a little under six months, I will be going back to the gym I left to come here - the extra five minutes and slightly more expensive rates really aren't that bad (after all, they're open a solid 24 hours a day at the other place). - Hot tub closed INDEFINITELY. In gist, you get what you pay for. So for the price, Bally's Total Fitness - Littleton is really not that bad. OH! And when you decide you're unhappy with the above factors, don't bother asking an employee to cancel your membership...walk your happy self out, call your credit card company and CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARD (I do mean CANCEL and I mean it wholeheartedly)...OTHERWISE, you'll be stuck an additional 4-6 weeks (after you mail in your required cancellation letter) paying for service that you're just not pleased with.
