I stopped in last week for my first Smallcakes cupcakes and will definitely be back! The shop is small, but cute and very clean. The delicious aroma of cupcakes wafts out as soon as you open the door! It's actually dangerous how close this shop is to my house (too tempting to make frequent visits!)
I ordered three cupcakes to share with my husband....cookies and cream, salted caramel, and peanut butter. The cake on each was nice and moist! Our favorite was the cookies and cream. It had a filling inside which made it extra moist and delicious. The peanut butter was also delicious and the peanut butter icing had a great peanut butter flavor without being too rich. The salted caramel was also good, but the icing on this one was our least favorite. It was too thick for my taste and I would have preferred it to be more creamy. I selected regular cupcakes, but I noticed that they had a large selection of gluten free options as well. There were several other flavors that I would like to try, so I'm sure I'll be stopping back by soon!

The hours posted state open until 8pm on Saturdays. We arrived at 7:40pm with our 2yr old for a valentine cupcake, shop was completely closed down! Lights off and chairs on tables! If you would like to close earlier then change your hours and post them correctly! Not a good way to conduct business!!!!

Cupcakes are very visually appealing. Cupcake flavors are varied and often interesting, however can be a little bland. Cupcakes tends to be about half cake, half icing; be aware of this ratio when considering individual preferences. Staff are short and put forth a sense of "put upon" when asked questions. Service isn't directly rude, unprofessional, or unfriendly, but it's certainly not welcoming or friendly either.
