    We were talking at thanksgiving dinner how terrible this company is. It’s been years since we have rented from them, and they are still the worst company I have worked with. It is amazing how they have a response/explanation for every single review. I understand if it’s one or two negative reviews and the company needs to defend themselves or explain the situation, but these chuckle heads just make up things to explain why everyone is leaving such terrible reviews. So in closing, congrats my house you are still in our thoughts years later, and I have such a distain for how you run your rental agency I am taking time out of my day to complain about you….again

    I wrote a more in depth review over on Yelp, but I wanted to write one here as well. I am extremely disappointed with our experience moving out after having had a good pleasant experience with them living in our house for three years. They took almost our entire deposit after we cleaned the house for three FULL days. We left that house (that we had been in for 3 years) better than the condition we had moved into. I am a clean person and was proud of how my husband and I left that house. It is old, build in the 50's and the appliances are old and rusting as well. I was incredibly disappointed that they treated us with such utter disrespect in taking the majority of our deposit after I called prior to our move to ensure we would do everything correctly during the cleaning process and get our deposit returned. They claimed that the cleaning fee was $900 plus dollars. It is a 750 sq ft house..... and we had already deep cleaned it. That is literally insane. They sent us pictures of the house, and it looked just like we left it. An old house that we cleaned as good as it could get. We paid other fees which I was fine with, a dent we had left in the wall, replacing the stove top - all things in the lease that I have no problem with. Do not rent with this company. We are filing a claim against them. They have horrible reviews online and I've had many friends tell us that they had the same issues, and they need to be shut down if they are going to continue to treat their clients/tenants in the way they currently are. It is unacceptable. I am very sad to have to be leaving this review because I would have otherwise recommended them for an enjoyable experience throughout our time living there. My House if you are seeing this I would LOVE to talk with you if you want to further discuss returning our money that you have taken. We already sent you a letter and you dismissed us saying that the cleaning charges stand which is just ridiculous. We were wonderful tenants to you and we really can't quite believe that this is how you treated us in the end after we did everything in our power to leave that house clean and just as we moved into it.

    I don’t even know where to start besides DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. I have never had such a awful experience with a leasing company. I recently moved here from out of state for work, and had little time to find housing. My fault for not reading the reviews or looking further into them before signing a lease. The only saving grace for this company is Cameron, who was very understanding throughout this ordeal. Upon move in, the bathroom reeked of cigarettes, the kitchen (especially the oven) was disgusting, and the floors were covered in dust from the construction they did prior to our move in. When we let them know about the smell in the bathroom, their solution was to simply paint over it (surprise, it didn’t help). The washing machines eat your change, and the dryers never actually dried our clothes. Additionally, the alley behind the complex is frequented by people that are strung out- as a young woman, this can be very scary, especially if you need to go outside at night. Turns out that this was the least of our worries. Shortly after moving in, we found small bugs in every room of the apartment. We are clean people, and had never had an issue like this before. Upon doing further research, we discovered that they were German cockroaches. When we notified management, they did schedule an exterminator to come spray- when he did, he lied to us and said they were just beetles from the elm trees outside. When this treatment didn’t work, we requested additional extermination efforts, which to their credit, they did provide. Despite having sprayed twice, we found more and more roaches. We resorted to buying nearly $80 of roach traps, sprays, DE, etc to attempt to mitigate the problem. Yet, we kept finding them in our apartment, the hallways, and saw them going under our neighbors doors. When we finally had enough of their b.s, we decided to break our lease- management was very rude and condescending throughout the process. Come to find out that they knew they had an INFESTATION in the unit below us, and didn’t feel the need to mention this prior to us moving in. They told us that they were spraying (clearly it wasn’t working) and that the problem was resolved. Absolutely ridiculous, disgusting, and dishonest management- you should be ashamed. Please do not make the same mistake as us and everyone else with these reviews!! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.

    This is the worst rental company I have ever had. I have rented through many rental companies throughout Fort Collins over the past 8 years. I have never felt so cheated and taken advantage of. I had read the bad reviews and heard from friends to not go through My House, but I had assumed that since I have always been such a good tenant that I would come out unscathed. I was charged $550 for a cleaning fee for missing behind the stove, the blinds & screens, and forgetting to clear out a kitchen drawer. I was also charged $123.51 for them to rekey the place after I left, which is required in the lease. Not to mention the rental was outdated, poorly wired, no a/c (the house stayed around 90 degrees in the summer with a brand new window a/c unit that I provided and all fans running). In the ad they tell you that there is a back yard, just to find out that is the downstairs neighbors entrance. The garage was barely constructed and had a dirt floor, and the house had yellow stained sinks and a mildew stained floor.

    Originally I was going to give it 3 stars or so after I moved out but decided to wait until after I got my deposit back. Glad I did... the things I liked were the neighbors, the no monthly pet fee.. that's it. the issues I had while living there were the place had no AC as well as no windows that could accommodate one (luckily it did have heating though I'm not sure it worked half the time), slow responses to any service request I submitted, constant intrusion at the end OF the lease for showings, this is the only company I've ever heard of that gives tours WHILE YOU STILL LIVE THERE, also the washing machine was in constant disrepair and constantly stealing your coins and not working. I asked for some kind of credit after one night I spent almost 20$ worth of quarters because the washing machine kept not finishing the complete cycle and stopping in the middle, they refused to help with anything. Now to the deposit... my deposit was $925 the place I was living was 350sqft. So obviously very small, when I moved in it was obvious no one even swept, mopped, cleaned the windowsills etc. But FOR SOME REASON even though I deep cleaned the apartment, to the point I even replaced the drip trays on the stove, before I left I got charged SEVEN HUNDRED FREAKING DOLLARS as a cleaning charge!! Again this place is tiny! Not only was it tiny but I left it damn near spotless!! I expected some kind of cleaning charge for something benign I missed but seriously?!?! Not only that, I left behind a bidet and figured I'd be nice by leaving something nice for the next tenants, called the property office and left a voice-mail that I did so, they charged me 220 dollar to uninstall it!!! It's literally just a screw in bidet, it takes 5 minutes to install or uninstall!!! This company obviously LOVES to screw you out of your deposits even when you go through great lengths to leave the place better than you found it. They are charging me over 300$ ON TOP of keeping my 925$ deposit. This is freaking ridiculous!! Update: after further review of the charges I'm receiving they're charging me 60+$ for "unpaid utilities" even though I paid my final bill through fort collins utility, I keep calling the office only to get a recording telling me try again later. Edit: I did receive an email once saying my apartment was dirty and asking me to clean it for the people touring. I was super busy and hadn't had time to clean for a week or so, but that has nothing to do with the state of the apartment when I left, I sent a video to the email address you listed of a walk-through of the apartment when I left, I can post it here too to prove to people that 700$ worth of cleaning charges is straight up extortion. Edit: I sent in a request for a secondary review like you stated I should do in your reply on 10/18/21 it is now 11/13/21 and I have yet to receive any response.
