image The rooms are beautiful but the only heat is the timed fireplace that turns off with a loud bang. The woman at the front desk is extremely rude and didnt care that we were freezing all night. She snapped that there is ambient floor heating but I checked the room again and there is no control box for it and the floors are cold cement. Not worth the money to freeze all night and deal with such an unpleasant person.

image This place makes for such a great getaway! We stay at least once a year and always have a wonderful time! Love the very relaxing vibes of the rooms large tubs, perfect jetted showers, mountain views! Great location to RMNP and the breakfast is always really yummy!

image EDITED: before you read below the manager of guest services, a kind and professional person named Misty, called me straightaway upon reading my review and apologized for the experience I had at the front desk. She cleared up all my questions about booking for next year, and said she was going to be training her staff to be more aware of returning customers. I was very pleased with our conversation. I am, however, choosing to leave the review here, just edited here with this comment. I am looking forward to being back next year and seeing these proposed changes :)
ORIGINAL REVIEW
This place would hands down get five stars except for the customer service :( most notably, a blond woman who works the front desk (I regret not asking her name) was off-putting from the beginning. Della Terra needs a way to see who is returning customers and who isnt because this was our 6th year there and there is zero recognition for that. Under the old owners from a couple years ago we used to get a free drink coupon and a little note in our room welcoming us back and wishing us a happy birthday(as they always used to ask us upon online booking if we were celebrating a special occasion). These are tiny changes the front desk could make that would cause a big positive impact on customer service. Were not wealthy by any means and we save every year to come here and spend a lot of money for us, so it would be nice to have the customer service match the amazing rooms and food etc. Also, upon checking out we asked if they could book us in rooms that were blocked on the website for weddings at the same time next year. 3 months of 6 of their best rooms blocked off for weddings in the winter. And again, given we were return customers, I feel this would have been easy for them to give us 2 nights out of 3 months (even a Sunday through a Tuesday! Not prime time!). But the worst of it was that the customer service throughout this interaction was less than amazing. The same blond lady was training a guy, and nowhere in this entire discussion about the rooms was any effort made to accommodate us. It was just no, theyre just closed off. Oh yeah they will open up the day before. Yeah right. They will open up 3 months of rooms that arent filling up long before the day before. It just felt like they were just trying to get rid of us :( for how much money we spend on our birthday trip each year, we really hope the customer service improves - customer service and greeting customers when they walk into an expensive hotel is very important. This is an easy fix, Della Terra, we hope for better next year.
The things we LOVE and hence the four stars: the food (very accommodating to gluten free), the room, the private hot tub, the drinks all amazing. Breakfast service in bed is fantastic. The loft bar could use more food item choices.

image This place is designed as a wedding/honeymoon location and probably best for that. We traveled as a couple for a hiking and National Park experience and it just wasn't as expected. We stayed in two different rooms since we wanted a king bedroom and the specific room we selected was not available on consecutive nights.
Pros:
*great breakfast and wonderful service at breakfast. I cannot stress enough how delicious our food was and the service was excellent. Chef and servers were professional and welcoming.
* Location is great
* exterior is beautiful
* personal hot tub was excellent
*heater/fireplace worked well
*looked like a beautiful place to hold a wedding
Cons:
* no bathroom doors or shower doors... the lack of privacy was a real downer for us. Taking a shower in the open makes for a cold shower, even if you have multiple jets. Maybe you don't need privacy for bathroom activities -- if so, this is your place.
* television -- not a smart TV therefore we could not screen mirror. Very complicated to control, sound came from the very tall ceiling so it could be difficult to hear or super loud in places.
* faucets -- sink drain installed incorrectly causing the water to splash onto you as you brushed teeth or washed hands.
*shower head -- in our room, it sprayed out, forcing you to get your hair wet.
*decor -- kitschy and 80s style. Lots of words on walls, way too much furniture, worn appearance of most of the furniture
*beds -- not comfortable. Very hard and slept hot, even though we opened a window for cooling.
* other picky things: so many signs telling me I couldn't bring alcohol to my room. I had no desire to drink in my room.
