DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I bought a Zen-O Portable Oxygen Concentrator and a lifetime warranty for $3,500. Six months later it stopped working. It turns out that there is something called a "sieve module" that has an unknow lifetime - based on it's use. This is section 11.3 of the manual, "The expected service life of the device is 5 years, except for the sieve modules. The service life of the sieve modules will depend on the operating conditions. The sieve modules are an internal component of the device and should only be replaced by a trained person. If the intake and exhaust vents are not blocked and the check vents alarm is activated contact your distributor." The company will happily repair my unit. It will only cost $45.00 in shipping (each way). In addition, if I want a loner unit, they will supply one for $300. Thus, after six months use, it will cost $390! How long is the repair good for? No one knows, it depends on the operating conditions. (A competitor's product has field replaceable sieve modules.) I complained and they did offer to send me a replacement unit. It would be used. How long would the replacement unit last? No one knows, it depends on the operating conditions! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! UPDATE ------------- I bought another concentrator from a different company. I then paid the $90.00 to cover the shipping on this one and sent it in for repair. Note: You have to supply your own box, so add another $6.48 for the UPS Store. FYI, 1st Class Medical no longer repairs these devices. It was actually shipped to the manufacturer in Florida. It was sent on Feb 14th, and was received on Feb 19th. It was shipped back on March 5th and received on Mar 11th. (For a total of 27 days.) The aforementioned sieves were replaced, along with the compressor and a software update was applied. It now sits in the closet as a backup unit.
