I think a lot of the bad reviews are old or a little unfair. I moved to Alexan city center in October and so far I have not had one major issue. All the staff have been very nice and place is great.

Signed a lease agreement sight-unseen because I was moving from out of state. I dealt with Mallory exclusively throughout the process and she was extremely helpful. Sent photos of the unit and always responded to the millions of questions we had. When I initially made contact I was told there were two units available, one very affordable unit with a full size balcony, and another slightly larger unit with a balconette. We chose to sacrifice square footage to get the larger balcony.. Fast forward to move in. Turns out Mallory had incorrect information on the unit, and the one we choose didn't actually have the full size balcony like we were told. Mallory suggested I contact Greystar about it directly and explain the situation. Mallory called me back the next day and said she talked to corporate and they decided to give us a completely different unit that had just opened up that was not only bigger, but also had a full size balcony, and was literally remodeled the week prior to our move in with brand new everything, for the same price as the cheaper unit! I'm very happy with the experience despite the setback, the staff and corporate handled it quickly and everything worked out great!

Let's start with the good. Little noise, decent size, allows some pets and washer/dryer provided in the apartment. Right next to the train station. Gym is within a 5 minute walk. Now that that's out of the way let's get into why I would never recommend anyone live here. When I toured the place they showed a different model and stated how they all come with full a full balcony. They dont. They're all tiny balconettes that you can put a bike on and that's it. The tour showed a kitchen closet that had shelving in it. We were told they all come like that. They dont. It's an empty closet with no shelves. I asked and we're told "you can buy some shelves and install it if you like." When we asked the leasing office it just so happened that the woman who toured us transfered out so there isn't much they could do. It just kept getting worse. My water heater was broken when I moved in and has had to be repaired 3 times in 5 months. It just broke again and it was temporarily fixed but wont be totally done until tomorros. I was never given a trash can for the trash valet. I asked and they said they were all out but that we could leave the trash in the hall and we wouldn't get a fine. We got several passive aggressive notes on our door in the morning with our violations highlited. It was taped up for all our neighbors to see. The trash vallet sometimes doesn't pick up the trash but if you happen to leave your trash out past pick up you better believe you'll get a fine. Paying rent on the weekend? It better be in one cashiers check or they'll make you pay online where you get charged a convenience fee of $50. You can't split the payment in half online unless the manager posts your check...which they won't since they don't work weekends. I moved in and had damage in several areas that were reported immediately. It took 4 months to get one thing fixed. My dishwasher clogged and spewed dirty water onto my dishes. According to greystar (who is just a call center) my maintenance people don't think it's an emergency to have dirty water standing in my dishwasher so it's been broken since Friday and wasn't replaced until Wednesday. The grill outside was advertised as open year round...as long as you supply your own propane I guess since the propane has been empty since September and it's now Janurary. The jets in the hot tub have never worked. Not once. There are Walmart shopping carts everywhere outside. Homeless people bug me for my money when I step outside my building. The bar across the street was advertised as a great place for karaoke and meeting people. Dear god, it's a dump and is always advertising new management. The security doors that lead into the complex have been broken since I moved in. You can pull them open without using your door FOB. And if your lucky, you can just find one that doesn't latch shut at all and just swings open in the breeze. My first week I told the leasing office. They recommended I submit a workorder. I guess it's the tenants job to keep up with the actual building instead of just their apartment. They use temps in the office so nobody is ever held accountable. It is by far the worst place I've ever lived. Nothing is ever taken care of in a timely manner. I'm reasonable but nobody who pays 1600 for a 2 bedroom IN ENGLEWOOD should have to wait 4 months for something simple to be fixed. Seriously, the repair kit at home depot cost less than 3 dollars. And before you ask why I just didn't do it myself (aside from my reason being I'm paying rent where repairs through the property are in my lease agreement) I didn't want to damage the walls further or have to buy a stud finder. Nobody should have to go the weekend without having a working dishwasher. The only thing this place is quick about is evicting people. I was late ONCE by LESS THAN A DAY and I had a nice letter taped to my door saying that if I didn't pay in 3 days I'd be evicted. Hey, I get it. We have to pay to live here. Pretty standard. But when that's the only thing that gets a prompt response you quickly learn where you stand.
