Kathy tailored my suit a little while ago, and it was an excellent experience. The results were fantastic, and Kathy was great the entire way through. She was very up front with all of her costs, which were very reasonable in my opinion, and the intent behind them. Would certainly go back if needed!

I scheduled some work to be done on my WEDDING dress. This was a $1200 dress. I needed the waist taken in and to have it hemmed. I scheduled the work with Kathy in February. But Kathy never worked with me. Instead it was Julie. First, there's a reason why they're so willing to come to your house to measure and discuss alterations. It's because they're home smells like wet dog. Not a great place to leave clothes that you want smelling nice and fresh and that are dry-clean only. She had me try on the dress in what appeared to be her teenage daughter's bedroom. I walked through the living room where a man and a small child were watching a movie in the dark. Awkward much? There was a filthy carpet and -NO MIRROR.- A mirror seems pretty important when your trying on a dress. She went through the alterations with me and the cost. It seemed reasonable. I scheduled a follow-up and left my dress there. When I came for my follow-up, she had forgotten my appointment. She saw me anyway, but it seemed very unprofessional. It took 4-5 visits to have all of my work done. Each time, the try-on room was filthy with piles of clothes on the floor. I was glad my soon-to-be husband came with me, because he had to take pictures so I could see how the alterations were going - still no mirror. Each time we asked her to do something, it seemed like we had to convince her of it. What are we paying you for? She finally finished with the dress and I took it home. The week of the wedding in May, I took my dress out of the bag, on the hardwood floor. What did I hear? The trickle of beads on hardwood as all of the beads started coming off the bottom of my dress. I was shocked. She had only ever cut the bottom. I could have cut the bottom. She hadn't cleaned up the edges. I couldn't hear all the beads coming off previously because of her disgusting carpeting. I paid her to hem the dress. She failed to this, but charged me as if she had. I texted her to complain. She said if I brought it back, she would resolve this. I couldn't risk it. It was too close to the big day. And leaving my dress with a stranger who didn't care for it last time was out of the question. She said she would reimburse me for the hem and mail a check. I haven't seen that check. So that was a flat-out lie. Another thing she did was remove some excess fabric from the back. The day of the wedding, we went to put my dress on and the bottuns started falling off. She hadn't sewn them on completely. So let's remember, this was a wedding dress. Potentially, one of the most important dresses you'll ever wear. She didn't take the time, care and attention to detail that she should have, but she charged me for everything. She invited me into a home that made me uncomfortable with the people living in it, the smell, and the mess. There was no mirror. She forgot my appointment. She flat-out lied to me. At least she didn't burn my dress to the ground...?

I was referred to Kathy for my wedding dress alterations. I was out of her service area but she allowed me to come to her home. I had 3 fittings until we felt my dress was perfect. I got tons of compliments! I would definitely recommend Kathy and Sassy's Selections!
