About Rob Alkema Rob Alkema found his calling and much more when he joined Family Heritage Life Insurance Company of America (FHL) in 2010. Before that, Rob worked as a pharmaceutical lab technician and later completed his undergraduate degree in biology at Grand Valley State University. A career that offered autonomy and independence, great culture and people, lifetime vested renewals, and the ability to make a difference, was what motivated Rob to switch gears and work in insurance sales. Today, Rob represents Family Heritage Life insurance products as a Sales Director at his Agency, Altitude Business Group in Denver, Colorado. Robs Agency has produced millions of dollars in sales and hes earned several recognitions, such as winner of the Team Leader I Dare You award for personal sales in 2011 and the Top Ten personal recruiter spot in 2012, 2013, and 2014. In Robs time with FHL, building relationships with colleagues has been his most rewarding experience. I love the people I work with! I met my wife in this career. Its fun to watch my business partners grow and work alongside people who challenge me to improve. Rob also finds offering FHL insurance products to his clients fulfilling. My sisters premature twins were in the hospital for several weeks and her Family Heritage Life intensive care insurance plan paid her cash benefits, which helped during one of the toughest times for her family. Rob and Altitude Business Group are committed to serving the community. His Agency contributes a portion of its earnings to individuals and families dealing with cancer and participates in fundraisers throughout the year. Rob and his team also contribute to their local church and support the African Community Center, Childrens Hospital, and Habitat for Humanity partner in Denver as well as St. Lukes Childrens Hospital in Idaho. When Rob is away from the office, he loves to spend time with his family, travel, be outdoors, and stay active with sports. He also enjoys hanging out with coworkers, reading, and learning about history.
