I had a very poor experience with Kindred and am writing in hopes that other people are able to avoid adding additional stress to an already stressful life situation. I found several caregiving services that provided exceptional help when I needed it most. Unfortunately, Kindred was the first company I utilized not realizing how many other great options are available. Yes, Kindred was the most affordable, and no, not a single penny saved was worth the chaos they introduced into a very fragile environment. I would not recommend the services provided by them, even if it were a very last resort. Take the time to find help elsewhere, it will be worth the time and the expense.

If you are looking for quality care to provide to a loved one, I would highly encourage you to pursue other options apart from Kindred. While their level of professionalism was impressive at first, they do not deliver the kind of care that was assured we would receive for my mom through a very difficult stage of her life. Their ability to punctually communicate is completely absent, and the level of skilled professionals they sent to our home was disturbing. We had staff who slept on the job, asked permission to watch TV while caring for my mom, spent hours on their phone while they were thought to be working, and who demonstrated strikingly low levels of knowledge and experience in caring for people nearing the end of life. Furthermore, their administrative staff is very corporate. When asked to address specific issues, (which unfortunately we had to several times,) it was a long chain of commands that had to be contacted before anything could be resolved. This is not a locally operated business where people connect with you on a human level. This is a huge company with a motive which is not providing the best care for their clients. There are a lot of caregiving services available and I assure you, this is not your best option. I highly encourage to seek out great caregivers from another company, even if it means spending a few more dollars an hour. You will be grateful you did in the end.

Been working with Kindred at Home for two months. Would not recommend that you consider this company. Many problems from the beginning and today, I was left without help and could not get to a family funeral because the caregiver had a family emergency and could not make it. Normally I would understand to a degree however they new about this this morning and left a very nonspecific message. I called back twice because they were not clear on their voice message and I did not know if they had been replaced and I should expect someone else. Obviously no one called back nor did anyone show up at the designated time. Had a similar problem previously asking for next day help but within their 24 hour requirement and did not get a call back after I called twice. I was also specific in the beginning that we needed someone strong enough who could help assist my 230 pound disabled husband. Kept getting small slight people who I doubt could help him with his transfers. He was even worried about asking for help while they were here. If you are looking for a reliable company that communicates well, this is not it. Very unhappy and have asked them cancel my account.

Of all the in home care agencies we tried for my Mom with Alzheimer's, by far the best has been Kindred at Home. They accommodated our requests and their office customer service is stellar. The care givers were very experienced, trustworthy and knowledgeable. They made our lives much easier!
