Cunningham Fire Protection District

Today there was a brush fire on Smoky Hill and Himalaya. We saw it, ran down there with OUR fire extinguishers and water buckets to put the fire out in the field so it didn't reach all the residents homes! We called as soon as we saw the fire, it took 20 minutes for even a cop to get there, and when we tell them what had happened they were very rude the dispatch lady was very rude to begin, and she couldn't even say thank you! I could not believe out of how many cops and fire trucks showed up 20 minutes later not one person could give a simple thank you to any of us who went down there with our own personal fire extinguishers! I am so disappointed and if there was something else I could do about it I surely would! Plus if we have a fire we have to wait 20 minutes for anyone to get here with no fire extinguisher is because we used it to help other people! Sometimes it's hard doing the right thing and it's sad because society makes it that way!!!!!

Love love Chief Jerry Rhodes and Nancy Cronk with Cunningham Fire District. With their amazing help we will be collecting pet food for Animal Haus in Denver. Animal Haus is a pet "Meals on Wheels". They have collected over 8,000 pounds of pet food in their first year. We have two dogs. Both are rescues. Tulo was found in a drop box at 4 weeks old. Someone had broken off this little guy's tail and hurt his leg. My daughter adopted him. Tulo has digestive issues and for two years we have had to "play" with different prescription foods. We found one which seems to help. It is $4 a can. Just a few years ago we would have had to find him another home or take on a third job to afford this food. Chief Rhodes is an amazing man. With him being a leader in our community we have moved mountains. Thank you forever, Chief. Thank you Chief and Nancy for this new opportunity to help our four legged friends.
