As a merchant / customer of EVO for 9 years, let us explain why we're leaving in disgust: 1) The rates constantly increase. We're eligible for a rate reduction every 6 months, but this information cannot be found anywhere in the account dashboard or EVO's website. So one must call. 2) Good luck finding a phone number, even when logged into your account! We run an ecommerce business and know all about good user experience, folks. Clearly EVO does not. The only reason we can ever get a hold of anybody is because we wrote it down in our files. 3) Once you've found the phone number and sat through the phone tree, you can request the rate reduction. A form has to be emailed, printed, signed, scanned, emailed back, and EVO will never send any confirmation that the reduction has been applied. Heaven forbid they automatically apply the lowest eligible rate! To avoid excessive fees, you have to invest your time every 6 months. 4) When customers reverse a chargeback, EVO still won't refund the $50 fee. 5) Initial contract term is 3 YEARS. Then it auto-renews. If you wish to cancel, you have to give 60 days written notice before the annual renewal date or pay $250. We're paying the $250 and already switched to Payment Depot. UPDATE: We had to leave the account open for a couple months in order to process refunds to customers as per our return policy. Just three weeks ago, with no written notice, EVO doubled the cancellation fee. Letting the account sit until it's ability to be freely cancelled near the renewal date would rack up a comparable amount of fees (and likely more, since EVO loves to unilaterally raise rates). 6) After reading Frank Casa's review of the company, having worked as an employee, we'd like to say to EVO, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, y'all are a bunch of EVIL, PREDACIOUS BANKSTERS. May your shareholders and their children die in pain, misery and destitution.

Pros I read my former coworker's reviews on Glassdoor before I wrote my review. A lot has been said about a great work environment at the Denver office. That is true and work environment is important to me too. But I have worked at other jobs with the same great work environments. I don't feel you should sacrifice competitive pay/benefits and work tools for a great work environment. I want both! Please see my "Cons". Cons 1) You have to wait 5 long years to be fully vested in their ordinary 401k plan. 2) Evo pays less than other companies. 3) Evo pays less in medical benefits than other companies. If you have medical problems, find a company with better medical. 4) Evo gives less holidays off than other companies. For example, you get Christmas off, but not Christmas Eve. My family is not in Colorado. It is tough not being able to see family as much as I want to. 5) Evo Does not offer stock options or profit sharing. This company makes a ton of money. Unfortunately, they don't share their success with their employees. 6) Evo does not offer yearly bonuses. No incentives to work harder. And here is the kicker.....Evo enjoys babysitting you too. If you are sick or need to go to a doctor's appt, you have to email your manager and HR that you are going to work from home. If the executives of EVO feel you are working from home too many times, you will be brought in front of your manager and HR for a chewing out session. Or they will terminate you instead. Fun, fun! The technologies that you will be working with are 7-10 years outdated, unreliable, slow, often-broken and tough to work with. Good luck on change being implemented. The refurbished laptop you will be working with.....will most likely be plague with problems and it will be a long time to get a replacement laptop if your current laptop crashes. If you can put up with the above, then this company is for you.
