image Facing homelessness with a 1 year old baby due yo domestic violence, and I was denied housing. Bre said she attached the denial letter to her email, but it was not in the email, so.im not sure why I was denied. I have asked bre several times for the denial letter but have still not seen it and she's not returning my emails. This place seems corrupt and unorganized. I'm glad I didn't get accepted.

image I was at one of their partnered organizations with my daughter who was taking a class there. While we were in the waiting area, I witnessed one of their educators using excessive force with a little boy who had been pulled out of class. The little boy was not fighting or kicking or even throwing a tantrum. He was using his words and was clearly having a hard time. The grown man with him was pulling his arm roughly and when the little boy didnt want to sit on the couch the man grabbed him and wrenched his arm while he shoved him onto the couch. Another staff member was there who saw and didnt react which leads me to believe this is either normalized or perpetuated by multiple people at the organization and isnt an isolated incident. This happened in a waiting room with parents and students unaffiliated with the daycare. Im all for being understanding of educators having a hard day, but there is no circumstance where using excessive physical force on a 4 year old is ok. After this incident I heard the same educator speaking to the class of (4 year old!) children in a condescending and rude way the entire time they were there. When they were getting on their school bus he was talking to another staff member about one of the students and how she would get to know her REALLY well in a condescending tone. The implication being that she often behaved badly. This was said while the little girl was standing right next to them. The behavior that had prompted this comment was that she had taken too long to get to their school bus (even though the rest of the children had not finished boarding it). If you, as an adult, are beefing with multiple 4 year olds, I think perhaps its time to reconsider your field. At no point did any of the other multiple staff members present step in. And it was not lost on me that he was white and the kids he was targeting the most were black. It seems (from his loud and public comments, not from behavior I saw from the children) that many of these children have a hard time at home. If that is the case, the last thing they need is an adult who is supposed to care for them to be treating them so disrespectfully. If anything, you should be more patient towards children who are acting out when you have a clear understanding and awareness of where these behaviors are coming from. Absolutely shameful. If you have a child in this program Id recommend talking to them to see if this kind of stuff is normal. The staff member had green/blue hair and a blonde beard.

Business Response on Google Jan 12th, 2024
Hello Whittney. Thank you for reaching out about your concerns. We share your concerns and continue to work to dramatically reduce the presence of all pests in our building. We have been working diligently with residents, staff, and external pest control professionals for several months. We are tracking an improvement in the situation, but we hear residents when they say that they are not seeing that.Part of the process of the continued treatments that pest control professionals provide involves residents prepping their apartments, and we understand that this can be inconvenient for residents given their busy schedules and many responsibilities. However, continuing these treatments for the foreseeable future is essential to us getting the issue under control. We offer gift cards each time residents adequately prepare for pest control treatments, and will do so at least through April, to acknowledge the burden that frequent prepping puts on day-to-day life. In addition, we offer childcare services the night before treatments to allow parents time to focus on the task of prepping. Our facilities team is also doing maintenance and work on apartments to assist in reducing the presence of roaches as well. We are working diligently to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

image Moving to warren village was absolutely devastating and the worst decision Ive ever made. I only lived at warren Village for about 3 months so my time there was short stayed. Prior to moving in I had a meeting with one of the landlords that I wont be naming out of privacy but the meeting was to do the pre-lease paperwork and when I was walking into the building there was also a crew of people that where walking into the building with hazmat suits on and it concerned me so I emailed the landlord after to ask if there was anything I should know about the facility that can be dangerous or cause of concern before moving in. And her response was that she couldnt discuss anyones situation however, it was their maintenance crew dealing with chemicals and such but that there wasnt anything dangerous or to be concerned about. That shouldve been the moment I decided not to move in but I being a trusting person of others took her word for it cause I never though someone would conceal something when it came to the safely and wellbeing of a single mother and her child. It wasnt long after moving in that things began to come up. It first started when Id encountered other residents wed get to talking since I was new to the building and Id ask them if they liked living there and theyd tell me theyre well concerned complaints. Then I was on one of their required self sufficient meetings over zoom and when the person leading the meeting asked the group if they had any concerns about the building the one concern that jumped out at me the most was when a women said that when she used the facilities dryer/washer it was full of roaches and she was requesting if we could get a new one and she was quickly turned down because they said another company had ownership over that property. I was completely disgusted and taken back by this. I couldnt believe when I was about to move in I specifically asked if there was anything I should know about the facility that is dangerous or a cause of concern and roaches being a health hazard is absolutely a cause of concern. If I wouldve been informed that they had a roach problem I would have NEVERRR moved in!!! After hearing that news I didnt even feel comfortable being there so where I was supposed to call home I started to spend less time at. I soon after saw a roach in my apartment and thats when it was over for me and it was my breaking point that I needed to move out. I had bought new things for my apartment when I first moved in like a nice microwave, blender, toaster and splurged on getting bulks of food to fill the cabinet and fridge but after reading up on roaches I found out that was all candy spots for roaches so I threw away all the new things in the dump so I wouldnt have to risk roaches going wherever Id move next. Any single mom thats struggled knows that buying things like new appliances for a new place is a big deal and to have to throw it away was heartbreaking. I packed all my sons stuff and mine all by myself and had to pay for putting our stuff into a storage unit while I figured out what wed even do next. The roaches was just my breaking point to moving but there were other things like when I first got there and you looked into the a/c it was completely black like they hadnt cleaned them in years and they said they wouldnt turn on the A/C on until mid may but then took a long time and the apartment was extremely hot when the heat was at high temperatures outside. There was also a time when my sink wouldnt turn on without a whole bunch of water just leaking everywhere and when youd look under the sink it smelled like mold like maybe they were not keeping up with their appliances. Im a single mom and when I moved to warren village I was excited and happy because I thought I found somewhere I could learn self sufficiency and maybe have the chance to go to college to get a degree since Id have somewhere to live at a lower cost but all warren village did was put me more behind I lived at Warren village for a short span of time but it was absolutely awful.
