Our experience with Schwalb Builders was straight out of a nightmare. We were told our kitchen renovation would take 4 months to complete. 14 months later, after NO work had been done and wasn't even close to being started, we cut ties with Schwalb after they repeatedly failed to deliver on their promises and breached their contract multiple times over. We had to hire lawyers to threaten a lawsuit just to get them to communicate with us. When we signed our contract with Schwalb back in March 2022, they had an A+ Better Business Bureau rating; now, it is an F, due to complaints that eerily echo our own experiences. The owner is in way over his head and never took any responsibility for his mistakes; everything was always someone else's fault, from his employees to the cabinetry company he works with to us. I don't think we are the only ones to experience this, based on his replies to similar complaints where no personal accountability is ever taken.
Other than the owner, the other employees at this company did their absolute best to help us, but there was only so much they could do without communication with the owner. When we hired a law firm to represent us, we were told that they knew this owner very well, and that he does "things like this all the time". Further, we have started gathering quotes from other contractors to renovate our kitchen, and multiple different people at different companies have stated they have heard stories of Schwalb builders starting demo to hit their "start demo" checkpoint in the pay structure, then bail and leave the project a complete mess and unfinished. This is not the leadership you want out of a company who you're trusting to work on your house; stay away! Service: Remodeling

The custom home construction services provided by Schwalb Builders Kitchen and Bath Showroom are some of the greatest we've seen. They are able to realize their clients' visions because they pay close attention to them.

We had our bathroom renovated by Schwalb Builders Kitchen and Bath Showroom, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The final product is wonderful since they truly took the time to understand our requirements and tastes.

Beware! Do not be fooled by the charisma of the sales person. While it looks like this is a hands off service for you as the homeowner, that's not the case (aka if it sounds too good to be true, it is). There were a few red flags from the beginning we chalked up to being a small business, in hindsight these should have kept us from working with them.
We hired Schwalb builders to remodel a bathroom - this should be a fairly straightforward project. Sean (the owner) said we would order materials and begin work within 2 weeks. 4 weeks later, we still didn't have a concrete start date. Not only were we not given clear timelines for the project, we also received very inconsistent communication. We were told we would have a project manager throughout the process, ultimately I ended up calling and emailing the office and our main point of contact multiple times a day and never received a response in writing. I believe they only communicate via phone call to limit their responsibility and risk. Additionally, the owner is incredibly rude and disrespectful.
After hearing countless horror stories from others in our neighborhood combined with our own red flags, we cancelled our agreement and did not allow them in our home. Regrettably, we agreed to the terms of their contract and lost a significant amount of money from our deposit.
Updated to add: After this review was posted, I was contacted by Sean (the owner). He went so far as to offer us a full refund in exchange for taking down our review. He sent us money via Zelle to show good faith, but the money never cleared. I do not believe any of these 5 star reviews are real - one in particular was posted after a phone call I had with Sean and it used the exact language of mine, spun in a positive way. This company scams honest hard working people out of a lot of money! Please do your research and look them up before anything or you'll be out 10s of thousands!
