Peak Sports / One Track Mind

During our trip out to Crested Butte this year, I decided to switch from snowboarding to skiing. The staff at Peak Sports was great with recommendations on which skis to try and fitting boots and skis. They were quick and helpful!

I have always had a really great experience at Peak Sports. I am a local and my family rents through Peak every year. This year my cousin rented from Peak and prepaid for 3 days of rentals. She didn't end up skiing one day so they kindly agreed to refund her. When she went in to return her gear I made the unfortunate mistake of asking Rusty if she could qualify for the 25% off discount that Peak offers. He looked at me as if I was speaking a foreign language! He completely denied knowing of this 'discount card' that I was speaking of. Confused, I looked at him and said "you don't know what discount card I am talking about?" He rudely replied that they don’t have 25% off but they do have a 20% off card. He then when on to say “are you asking me if I will give her back less than the $60 I am already refunding?” I replied, “No, I was simply asking if she could qualify to receive 20% off of the two days she skied.” I was dumbfounded at the treatment I received. As a business owner in Crested Butte, I refer people to Peak Sports regularly. Unfortunately, I will no longer refer people to Peak. It is unfortunate because the rest of the team and Andy are great people. But after experiencing ‘customer service’ from Rusty, I do not feel comfortable recommending anyone to Peak knowing that this sort of treatment and attitude is a possibility.
