Where do I start? During my first and only visit, I looked past the dingy and dimly lit receptionist area with out much of a thought, which in hindsight was my first red flag. The first thing done was to x-ray my teeth. I've had this done many times and it is a straightforward and painless process. However, at this place the nurse or assistant person seemed to think the only way it would work was by shoving the mouthpiece into my gums. When I expressed pain and discomfort it was met with indifference and the attitude that this was the only way. When pushing the last mouth piece in for the last x-ray, the nurse or assistant took a deep breath, and then shoved it as if trying to embed it into my gums. Again, when I expressed pain I was met with the indifferent attitude that her way was the only way it could be done and it wouldn't work unless she did it that way. From there I was shown to the exam room and ask to have a seat. The antique vinyl dentist chair was cracked and dirty, with deep grooves of dirt and grime contrasted against the worn out cream colored vinyl. I could not help but notice that there were no disposable covers over the armrests or the headrest, so it was just me against the chair. I wonder how many others have used that chair before me in that same manner. And for the worst part. When the dentist did see his way in, he had no gloves on. When he went to examine my mouth with his bare hands, he did not stop to put gloves on first. There I was sitting in a dirty old chair with an elderly dentist sticking his bare hands in my mouth to poke around my bruised gums (thanks to the x-rays from earlier). At this point, I was absolutely certain I would never return. I wonder how many other mouths those hands have been in in that same manner. Of course, I was told I needed work done and there would be a Medicaid request to approve payment, which the front desk person there would send in. Even that was messed up! When I received the Medicaid letter, it stated that the requested procedure did not exist and therefore could not be covered by Medicaid. I recommend staying away from this "dentistry" at all costs.
