I have worked at this community for a little under 8 years now. I have probably seen about 6 to 7 Dining directors come and go. It always seems to be the same thing, they work them to death because they are always short staffed. They micro manage and say they are support, but they are calling the shots even though they don't admit it. The most recent director they let go was the best director I have seen since I have been here. Just like all the rest, short staffed, and unable to perform his own job due to covering so many other jobs. He cared for the residents and worked harder than any other Director I have ever seen. He worked with his staff and trained them well. He was replaced the same day he as let go with someone who just started two days before it happened and that he came from another community that the new Executive director came from as well. Why?

I’ve been a staff member here for just over 4 years now. Is Liberty Heights perfect? No. No place is. However it is a really great group of people, both staff and residents, who I believe for the most part really care about each other and the community. Our new Executive Director has hit the ground running and I trust will bring about a lot of good change. There is of course some turnover, that’s been the case at every community I have worked at, but we do have some staff members who have been here for years! Our lead bus driver will do whatever he can to make transportation work for our residents. Our security supervisor will always give %100, our marketing team is constantly coming up with new ways to engage the community, and the programming director has worked so hard this year providing so many activities across campus. I’m very happy to be a part of this team, and see things continuing to get better and better.

David spent 30 years serving the Colorado Springs community as an oncologist, retiring in 2000. He then became Medical Director of the second Hospice in the C/S Community (Odyssey). David was transferred to Liberty Heights from the University of Colorado Anschutz hospital in Denver. He had been admitted to that hospital due to a blood stream infection. David was on extended IV antibiotic therapy and needed rehab to finish the duration of the antibiotics, in addition to physical therapy to regain strength and stability. Several facilities were contacted, and Liberty Heights accepted the referral. "The Physical Therapist, Jeff, has been just great setting me up with muscle strengthening exercises.†“The entire staff has been very warm and receptive to individual requests and needs.†“They answered the call button fairly promptly and within reasonable time.†“I was grateful for the fact that they comfortably and accurately tuned into my antibiotic treatment, which other local organizations were unable to do.†“The food was absolutely delicious — first class — with each meal having several dietary options to choose from.â€

We enjoy the convenience of, not only being close to our family but everything that is offered here on campus. We enjoy the camaraderie among the residents, the beautiful views and the physical layout of the building with everything being under one roof. We like to go walking and when the weather is bad and we can't walk outside, we can still do our walking inside the building. The most attractive benefit of Liberty Heights is that there are all levels of living on campus so that no matter what life brings us, we can stay right here.

The residents and the place is great but literally management is horrible. With harassment from management. Never have I ever had management be this awful to me. Very disrespectful. Don't care about employees with a big turnover rate. Would not recommend working here.
