Like Shari has mentioned in her review, DO NOT HIRE this business. I can almost exactly replicate Shari's story. We are in a loss of over $180,000.00 AND our shop was never finished. There was ALWAYS an excuse for not completing something. If anyone reading this has a similar experience, I would love to collaborate with you.

This is the worst contractor in Colorado springs I hired them to install windows and a few other renovations on my apartment complex and they're still 2 months behind schedule and the work quality was far below what I would've expected from a "professional" Service: Home renovations

Brian Long Review Shari Dougherty WARNING.....DO NOT HIRE THIS SO-CALLED CONTRACTOR! I apologize up front for the long story but I want to make sure I relay as much information as possible for those reading the review and considering hiring this company. Brian Long, Owner, was recommended to me by a friend in July 2021. I initially hired him to paint the inside of my house and install vinyl flooring and tile. Most of this work was completed and he started off doing a good job. While this work was being done, and because he was making good progress initially, he recommended several other jobs that his company could do such as renovation of my guest suite, landscaping, fence/rock wall removal, paint/stucco/gutters on the outside of the house, tree removal, sidewalk/non-slip surface on porch, etc. He informed me that because he had to purchase material and hire subcontractors to do a large portion of the work that he required either 50%, 75%, or 100% advance payment, depending on the particular job. Overall, I have several separate invoices and I paid him a total of about $110,000 for work of which he has only completed approximately $43,000 of that work. I estimate that he owes me approximately $67,000 for work that has not been completed (some of the jobs I paid him 100% for were never even started, with the exception of demolition of my guest suite and exterior landscaping). I later found out that he is a pro at demolition and never finishing the jobs. He also claimed that he is licensed in the state of Colorado, the Vice President of his company is Jay Hanson from Hanson and Hanson who actually has a license, but later discovered from Jay Hanson himself that the only relationship he had with Brian was as a Subcontractor and was collecting a monthly fee to use his license to pull permits. Brian also claims to have ordered and received all materials I paid for but he has never delivered any of it. He also asked me to do him a favor while he was in Las Vegas with his family and pay one of his Subcontractors since he neglected to pay him for work he was doing at my house before he left on vacation. I paid his Subcontractor and then discovered that the work was never completed. It has been over a year now and he has not paid me back for the Subcontractor (which I paid twice for since I had already paid him also), he has not delivered any of the materials, and he has not completed the additional work I hired and paid him for in the sum of about $67,000. I have attempted to work with Brian since October 2021 to have him complete the work, provide the materials, or reimburse me for the unfinished work and he has had nothing but excuses. His excuses ranged from not having employees due to Covid, he was busy doing snow removal in Denver, he was having health issues, more employees with Covid, more health issues, and on and on. He wrote me a check to pay me for the Subcontractor and a car I agreed to sell him and the check bounced. He later wrote me a 2nd check for the same and it bounced as well. He agreed to meet me at a bank to pay me cash for work that he never started and then failed to show up. I provided Brian multiple opportunities to either finish the work or pay me back for the work that wasn't completed or started, and provide me the materials I paid for. Due to his refusal to cooperate, I decided to file a report with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) for fraud. I offered him a favorable settlement and he turned it down. Now criminal charges are being filed against him. I would love to hear from you if you are in the same or similar situation with Brian Long or his company, or Jay Hanson or Hanson and Hanson..
