This small and quaint place is the perfect restaurant to bring a date. The food is scrumptious. The plates may be viewed as being on the small side, but it was the perfect portion size for me.

I have been to about 85% of the restaurants in Boulder, and I can honestly say, that John's is the best. One might argue that it is a bit expensive, but when you consider the truly exceptional service, and the absolutely magnificence of the food, I'd say that John's is a bargain. The decor is simple and non-distracting...which is probably just as well, because most of your attention will be on the food (or your extremely happy date). And you will also notice that your waiter's service is impeccable. My waiter was always there when he was wanted, but was conscientious enough to allow us to marvel over our drinks and our food in peace. He also took note of my date's peculiar dislike of a few items (wine and chocolate), and when it was time for our 6th course (a medely of small desserts), chocolate was conspicuously absent...but not missed, because the other 3 desserts were truly phenomenal. By the way, if you order the 6 course meal...you will NOT be disappointed. I would HIGHLY recommend this gem. I'm just sad that it is closed on Sundays...especially since today is Sunday and I'm starving...
