Espresso Roma provides and example of an interesting perspective in the Boulder community. At first glance it may seem a little gritty and untamed, but talking with the employees and regulars you definitely get an internal, though not exclusive, sense of community within this college town. A place to read, write, eat, drink, and be merry, Roma is often my top choice when I want a cup of coffee, a bagel sandwich, and a place to people watch.

Roma is weird! It's a great hole-in-the-wall attraction for artists and coffee-addicts (their "$1 Rent" makes it perfect for us in this category). A down-to-earth atmosphere with outdoor patio seating makes it a wonderful spot to sit, read, people-watch, and drink or eat. Their coffee and espresso drinks are good, but no other establishment on the Hill has the quality of bagel sandwiches you can find at Roma. Highly recommended.

If you want to see the crazy of Boulder - come on down! I don't care what time of day it is... there are some characters that haunt this place! The coffee is good and the atmosphere is psychedelic!

Ah Roma. You have been in Boulder for a very long time, and not much has changed. This is good! The drinks are good, (its coffee, not rocket science, although the behind the bar hipsters would like you to think that) and the bites are great. The outside is privy to shirtless (guilty) grungy hippies, who often stare at you judgingly as you walk by, while inside is filled with "too delicate for sun" hipsters. You will be served by haughty, aloof, skinny jean, thick rimmed glasses wearing folks, who demand respect for their rocket science. Of course, this does not detract from the appeal, it only weens out the people who we wouldn't want to be there anyway. ;) In this neighborhood, a place like this is a welcomed jem (a dirty, coffee stained, skinny jeans wearing jem) Can a hole in the wall hipster coffee shop be any more stereotypical? I think not
