Do not work with Yellow Paddle. We decided to use them for our wedding photography and worked with Judy M and Emily B. We received multiple family photos where they were unable to get everyone smiling at the camera. The main issues arose with Emily B. It was clear that she struggles with editing/color selection. In all of our pictures, my suit color (navy) was turned gray by Emily during her editing. My wife requested it be fixed because we selected navy as one of our wedding colors, not gray. We received the edits back which were done very poorly. My wife and several of our guests had their skin turned gray in random photos. My suit was turned more true to color but my white under shirt magically turned blue as well. Not sure if this is from laziness or poor photography skill. The photos would have looked nicer if she would just not edit them. Her coloring or her "style" was horrendous. It is one thing to edit photos to your style but it is another to completely disregard the color choices made by the bride and groom. The whole situation was painful as we had to go back and forth with the company to get the issues "fixed". Another issue is that you are only allowed to talk with your main photographer. Judy clearly did not coordinate with Emily at all before they showed up to the wedding. Judy did much better in her photos but both of them sent us photos with people mid blink, even during our staged shots. Again, I do not recommend Yellow Paddle and I especially do not recommend Emily B. Do not work with Yellow Paddle.

Booking with YellowPaddle was one of the best decisions I could have ever made for our wedding! Of course, it is a huge bonus that they have great prices and packages, but everything else is more than you could ever ask for. The online system is easy to use and there is always someone replying to any questions you may have. The checklist is so helpful and helped me stay on track.
We had a good feeling about Joe B and Emily B while looking through portfolios and we were right. I had a 1 hour phone call with Joe a few weeks before the wedding and he walked me through everything that would happen that day and really helped me with all of the stress that comes with not knowing all the details of the day. This was already enough to make me fall in love with the company, but it only got better on the actual wedding day. Joe and Emily were so excited to be there and showed that excitement the entire night. Emily was always helping me with my skirt and making sure it looked perfect and Joe was always making me and the group laugh. They had great ideas for different photos and even queued us to get some really cute “candid” ones throughout the night.
However, they weren’t just there to take some pictures. All of our guests talked about how amazing our photographers were and how much fun they had with them. Usually, we see photographers just trying to hide and get pictures at weddings, but Joe and Emily really made the night and our guests come to life! We give a lot of credit to our day being so perfect to this AMAZING duo – it would not have been the same without them.
The wedding was just a couple weeks ago, so we are still waiting for the album, however we did get a sneak peek from Joe. His photography and editing skills are beautiful and better than we ever expected. My husband and I, along with every other member of the family, are so excited to see the final album and probably frame everything!

Yellow Paddle was so easy to work with and very reasonable for our budget for our wedding! Communication with them is fast and the process is great where you get to choose your own photographer. We loved the photographer we went with! We chose Erica S as our photographer and she did not disappoint! Do yourself a favor and hire Erica as your wedding photographer. She is so professional and responsive and is so easy to work with! She did an amazing job making us feel comfortable on our wedding day because of her fun personality. We were blown away with the photos we received and how talented she is. Thank you, Erica and Yellow Paddle for being a part our special day!

Katie was amazing! So easy to work with and fun to be around. I am looking forward to getting our photos back!
UPDATE: Communication after the wedding has lacked. You do not get a sneak peak set of photos - if you'd like to have the excitement of a sneak peek like we were planning on, don't go through yellow paddle. Sort of kills the excitement. Still looking forward to getting our photos back, but that is a pretty huge bummer. Also a huge bummer that it wasn't communicated to us that communication with the photographer would cease following the wedding - you pay a decent amount of money and are left concerned that you won't receive the finished project.
UPDATE #2: Communication post wedding has lacked. No one can give us an idea of when our photos will be complete except for "we are hoping to get them to you in the 8 week window." They want your money up front then are unwilling to provide service or customer support. Poor communication, massive lack of professionalism. Wish we could go back and book through Katie directly or use a different photography company. Buyer beware.

*READ BEFORE BOOKING WITH YELLOW PADDLE - I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO OUR VENUE COORDINATOR WHEN SHE WARNED US ABOUT THIS COMPANY. PHOTOGRAPHERS ARE AWESOME, IT IS YELLOW PADDLE THAT IS LACKING.
Katie was amazing! So easy to work with and fun to be around. I am looking forward to getting our photos back!
